Even Alpina cannot fix this mess. Alpina is all about elegance, and there is nothing elegant about this design.

I think the exterior looks nice and modern. The grill is a tad large, but not hideously out of proportion like the G8x.

I'm not about to buy any car though that uses a long ipad as a dash.

Used to be big companies were run by people that had power over their employees and didn't have to accept whatever the "talent" put in front of them. Something like "do what you like, but do not mess with the corona rings, the kidney grilles, or the Hofmeister kink. It must still say BMW as soon as you gaze upon it." And if they brought rubbish designs, they were rejected.

Now it seems to be, "you are the talent, we are lucky to have you and welcome your fresh ideas without restriction." That might be a good thing for some categories. Not this one. The more they make the brand unrecognizable, the less people have any reason to be drawn to it, to be loyal to it. Foolish.

I think this design goes right with their Kith marketing….this is a really woke LCI. It appeals to all genders and cross genders.

It's definitely a low bar. Just saying it's *maybe* less of an eyesore.

I understand BMW would want to show "maximum" configurations in their press materials but I wonder how the supply shortages will effect actual X7 LCI production.

Really good catch there. There is couple more items that are suddenly available
- soft close doors
- traffic jam assist distance driving pro
- alcantara ceiling
- full leather

Suspicious….
why rob the previous gen car buyers to promise it in new year again.

But it seems to be the sign of times- we used to wait for new model year to come out with new features and could not wait to upgrade. Now we are dreading the new year because of crazy design, lack of features we are used too.. more fuel economy crap like forcing stop and go on us in m engines….

Maybe its bmw incentive for people to have new model year… here - have some features back you used to have in 2019 and 2020…. Better get it nOw since pretty soon it will be no more leather, no more v8, no more speed limit free driving…etc

Currently the wife drives a fully loaded 2020 x7m50i. While I am not sold on the new styling the wife likes it.

- Any clue on mpg on the new m60i?
- the only thing we didn’t get was the alcantara headliner due to delay in build. Is that still an issue?
- any configurators up?

Also, interior-wise, the one thing I hate about the large screen is they are taking away the ambient lighting strip going across the dash.

Also, the crappy little ambient arrows with the X7 on the dash looks like something the Chinese would sell for $10 on Amazon....I mean, how tacky is that? WTF.

An intentionally bold and divisive new front end. Looks pretty good on the M version.

I’ve been very disappointed with my 2022 X7 M50i though.

From a refinement perspective, the terrible wind noise from the windscreen and double-paned side windows is poor. You can literally hear a whistle from the windows.

From a practicality perspective, the second row ISOFIX points are so far inset that you can’t comfortably fit three child car seats across.

FYI, Weatherford BMW said the wind noise was normal. BMW Seattle agreed to reset the side windows positioning…and then cancelled, claiming it’s not warrantable. BMW USA couldn’t care less.

I expect better given the nearly $120K sticker and doubt an LCI refresh changes those fundamental weaknesses in design and service.

Yeah thats the old "secret" compartment, but not like the F15 X5 sunglasses holder on the roof. Still nice but not the real thing

Sir, you do know that the X7 has been measured as one of the most silent/deadened cabins in the industry, akin of a Rolls-Royce (akin, not the same). I honestly wonder if your expectations are a bit high as to how much wind noise can be cancelled in a 6000lbs brick on wheels. However, this could be an unusual but specific to your car issue. A few things I would look at if you haven't yet (since I've had similar issues in my X5):
- Did they check the rubber and plastic inserts that hold the windshield in place on all four sides, from the exterior? These have caused issues in the past.
- The same applies to the panoramic roof, sometimes even just a slightly raised railing or rubber part can cause the noise
-Whenever you hear the wind noise the strongest, do a fellow forum member a favor and try if changing the following AC settings make it go away (temporarily): AC on Auto; Air circulation on auto; Dial the temperature at least 4-6 degrees higher or lower; dial the blower intensity one lower.

100% agree with you; my wife's X7 is deathly quiet. It is one of the most refined experiences I have experienced.

So why are you here?
Because a BMW enthusiast doesn't always mean being a fan of everything they produce. People are allowed to be critical on this forum the last time I checked.

Unless I directly disrespected you, and if so please let the mods know.

And I've been here many years contributing in various ways, thank you.

That's a harsh statement but it's hard to argue that they have not fallen behind Audi, Mercedes and Porsche when it comes to design.

The new direction with the XM, iX, G80, i7 and the new X7 LCI are clear indicators of the direction of future BMWs. And they are not good indicators.

Regarding the X7 LCI, I do not hate it as much as I'd like to hate it. I actually don't hate it at all, but I want to somehow.
I see your view, and to me the cars just aren't appealing or eye catching on the road anymore. But then, there's always a car for everyone including this monster of a vehicle.
