Agreed. That's the same lowest I've gotten. Hoping for something a little more reasonable.

So i ordered X7 with delivery in 2023 and yesterday i got info that price the car itself went up approx 6000$ which is just normal i would say but one thing really hit me in to the nose.
I had ordered BMW Repair inclusive which was approx 3500$ for 5 years/125k miles (and here I'm not sure if it's extra 5 years or 5 years total) But the price of this package went up to 7500$ ... like WTH, why so much? |

BMW Protection and Extended Warranties
Quote:
I have been purchasing BMW directly offered Ultimate Protection Coverages (Pre-paid scheduled maintenance, wheel/tires. keys and windshield protection and extended warranties) through BMW dealers for years. There could be good third party warranties may be there but during mechanical break down getting over the hump is very difficult especially for BMW type expensive cars because for almost everything you need pre-authorization process. If one can get an honest and sincere BMW finance manager, the BMW warranties from my experience has always been very competitive if you carefully read and compare what is covered and what is not. I have noticed the reference for Ms. Christine Newman from CA. Her quotes are good but I would like to share a better lead I came across very recently for BMW warranties. His name is Mr. Jermaine Cook, Finance Manager from Lexus of Memphis. You can reach at jcook@roadshowbmw.com or 310-753-6200. Please feel free to reach him. Best as always! |

That’s not the number at Roadshow nor is it a Memphis number at all.
But Jermaine is listed on their website.

I did call him today. Very nice and is going to get back to me tomorrow. So, I can at least vouch that he’s legit!

Hi all -
Is there a mileage break point where it makes sense to get the maintenace plan? I was in the service dept yesterday and my service advisor, who knew we just bought out the lease and that we were investigating getting extended warranty and maintenance plans, said that becasue we’re putting so little miles on the car, it’s probably not worth it to get the extended maintenance. That it would be better to just pay for the services outright. At the moment, we have just over 11k miles in 3 years. That will increase now that I’ll be back to commuting once a week but even that’s only 40 miles round trip. So if we averaged ~4k miles per year before, with work and occasional trips, we might hit 7k per year for the rest of our ownership. So my guess is everyone will say the warranty is worth it but, how about the maintenance? TIA! John |

Well fun fact thats not known to many, you can sign up for the maintenance plan ANY time before 7 years and 125,000 miles I suggest saving your money and sign up when your brakes are due or when there an expensive maintenance service due at once like brake fluid, brakes, spark plugs, etc Second fun fact, whatever price that is quoted to you (you can also find this price here by putting in your car info: https://bmwusaservice.com/ultimatecare) the price can be discounted by $500 from the online listed price. |

He never got back to me. I haven’t followed up for two reasons:
1 - I don’t feel like I should have to call him more than twice. I’m spending the money, he’s making it. 2 - I haven’t purchased anything that would motivate me to buy the insurance.

Would love to know if what you said is now true though. Can anyone confirm that I can order maintenance anytime? My understanding and real-life lesson says it’s just with Warranty that you can do that. |

I am in the process of closing documents on X7. Got confirmation today that Maintenance plan needs to be purchased before the old one expires. Warranty can be extended any time.
Also every dealer quotes different cost of maintenance and warranty plans. Even tire insurance coverage cost is different at each dealer for same car. I checked with 4 different dealers and got 4 different numbers for same type of plan. example - Warranty for 72 months / 100K miles was quoted as $6050, $6258, $5870 For now rejected all offers. |

They won't call back or hound you because if he's truly giving you a good break on price they're not making that much money, so not probably not worth it for them to keep chasing someone who may not buy anyways. Has to be be good for both sides. That's why I tell people when they call my resource Ben at the BMW dealership have all your quotes ready to be beat, and credit card ready to buy on the spot. Save customer money, save dealership employee time. Lol.
