White x5 paint "dry" from dealer
I just bought a white xdrive 35i and I noticed streaks coming from the mirrors and that the paint on the hood was dirty in spots. I used quick detailed and a new microfiber rag and it wouldn't come off and ass I wiped the car down it felt dirty like the rag was dragging. The paint feels smooth to the touch (not like when paint drags and you feel grit and you need to clay). I rubbed clay on the streaks and it took forever to get them off and the paint still feels draggy under the rag after clay. I am going to buff with light compound and buff paint sealant on and off but I feel like I shouldn't need to. Anyone else have this issue?? Never had this on a new car and any older car the paint usually smooths right out with clay

Straight back to the dealer. I wouldn't put anymore time/effort into it. Definitely not acceptable for a new car. Tell them you don't want their in-house wash guys to polish it either, rather a pro detailer. Otherwise... you'll get the dreaded dealer-installed swirls.

It should have been delivered in spotless condition and if not, don't take delivery. I took about 30 minutes inspecting everything inside and out before I took made an offer, and then reviewed it before I accepted the keys.

I don't even know why doing this yourself would even be a consideration. There is no logical reason to mess with your paint when BMW will correct the issue properly
