Possible to hardwire an aux and usb/cigarette?

I've been looking at picking up a blackberry Bluetooth stereo gateway.

I've got an aux in and a USB port in the center armrest. There's also a cigarette lighter in there.

My question is, can I hardwire the bluetooth unit to the underside of the AUX input and use a converter to hardwire to the underside of the cigarette lighter? Giving a permanent line in and power? Would this be a good idea?

This would mean my Bluetooth unit was hidden out of site within the trim of the center armrest, and is essentially integrated into the car. I'm not fussed about the song displayed etc on the display and i'm happy to control Bluetooth from the phone.

I'm looking to do something similar to the below post.

But with the connections hard wired and out of sight.
