Called the sales rep, and I was told they do not finance out of state buyers... cash only or wire transfer, is this some CA state regulation? I've never heard of anything like that.. Really surprised. Even offered a check in full from my local credit union, but he started explaining that it won't work for them, something to do with registering the car, anyone ever encountered this? Seems really strange to me.

That’s odd, I’ve never heard of anything like that.

That's either a really ignorant salesman, or he "has someone already interested that is paying cash..." I've bought several cars from LA/Orange County and driven them back and never heard anything like this. They obviously don't like making money.

I purchased a similar car from this very dealership back in early 2017 ('14 AW/Black CP, 32k miles) and had it shipped to North Carolina. I financed through Irvine BMW and didn't have any issues other than a little title paperwork miscommunication between NC and the dealership. The car was a CPO and very happy with it - my salesman was Terry Zwarka and maybe they have changed their stance on certain vehicles but would be surprised they don't do financing for out of state buyers. Good Luck

Interesting. What bothers me about that car is that it's been sitting for a long time. I've been watching since it was originally list at around $45.

How did you have the car shipped? I'm in Raleigh, looking to do the same thing as you. Any tips? Beast27

Yep had it shipped. there were 2 options - covered and uncovered, both of which included other vehicles in the shipment. I went with uncovered at $800, whereas covered would have been $2k. For me, it was worth the risk as they do a good job of documenting condition. The delivery took about a week as the driver had to make stops in Texas, Alabama and South Carolina before getting to me. Overall, I was happy with the experience since I purchased the exact car I wanted with the precise options...
