A good daily driver?
Hey guys, with high gas prices and all, i may be getting rid of my SUV and these gas prices are also stopping me from buying another SUV, or an A6. So i was wondering what commuter car would be good for everyday traffic, safe, cheap, good gas mileage, not terribly ugly cheap looking. I was thinking a VW Jetta however if i get rid of the SUV, i really want something with AWD cause of the PA winters...im not aware of any nice economical everyday commuter cars with AWD....Perhaps a older B6 A4 1.8T with Quattro would fit?

Personaly if you were going to go for cheapness in the gas division, then I would stay away from a car than needs top tear gas.
I would get one of those new civic SI's. I went on a road trip with my friend that has the 2door one, and it was fun. It did not use any gas, and was a peppy little ride, comfortable, and overall fun. go test drive one and tell me what you think.

lol how does a A4 1.8T = good on gas .
if you want a decent looking, good on gas, reliable car, i'd say either honda civic coupe, toyota yaris RS, or if you have the $ , the smart four two

328xi. Pretty good on gas (I am now getting about 25mpg) comfortable, goes in all weather. It handleed the snow here like a champ today. It's a great commuter car!

Civic... I drove one for 5 years and they handle better than my parents Montero Sport did in the winter. They are fun to drive as well.

I drive a POS Civic as my beater car. Works well enough...reliable and has been mostly trouble-free. It's so freakin painful to drive, though...actually, it's torture!
It does make me appreciate the E93 more, though. Civic to 335 is like going from a golf cart to a Formula 1 car. lol |
