Looks like a $1,600 and $2,200 bump for the 40i and 60i respectively. No other changes (other than the DAPP) that I can see!

Edit: More specifically, a $400 bump for the DAPP across both trims presumably for the new feature.

Last edited by AvGeek; 02-29-2024 at 11:14 AM.. Reason: Actually a $1,600 bump not $1,400.

Thanks for the guides.

Would be nice to know what hardware / software changes are going into the 25. For example, last MY had new head units with better functionality.

Hopeful they brought back some buttons and perhaps rear door comfort access?

Change Lanes With Your Eyes
How does it work? An optional part of the Highway Assistant Level 2 driver assistance suite, Active Lane Change Assist will automatically change lanes (including altering speed and steering). First, it prompts the driver that a lane change is suggested, perhaps to pass a slower car or when a lane ends and the vehicle needs to merge. In some systems offered by competitors, the driver would be required to physically accept the prompt, generally using the turn signal stalk. Active Lane Change Assist can take commands from the stalk, or the driver can simply look at the side view mirror. The act of looking at the mirror confirms the lane change, and the car then conducts the maneuver, traffic conditions permitting.
doubtful they will be readding the comfort access on the rear doors. every model that had them is losing them on their refreshes.

What is this option exactly (comfort access on rear doors) - I read about it a lot. Can’t you set all doors to unlock when you approach with the digital key plus (iPhone or Apple Watch or the key)? Why is this option needed now?

Ah, got it. The rear comfort access is a physical sensor on the door that can lock/unlock the door, like the fronts. This was standard on the X7 (and X5 and others) until ~2023 when it was removed perhaps for supply issues and then on all LCI's altogether. You may not need it if you use the auto-unlock/lock functions, but myself and other folks definitely like the addition of the physical sensor, not to mention this feature is standard on many cars a third of the price of the X7 (or X5 for that matter).

There are times when simply don’t want all your doors to unlock when approaching for security reasons or even in your own garage when working around the vehicle. Having sensors in the rear doors is especially helpful if you have kids and want to get them in the vehicle first without unlocking all your other doors around you. They should now be in all 4 doors by 2025 on a 7 series. This parts shortage excuse this late in the game is now pathetic either from a manufacturing point of view or a management incompetency. My guess is BMW got to see how much they could cut back on a vehicle under the umbrella of Covid and somewhat conditioned their customers to believe this is now normal SOP.

Agree, or at the very least on the M60 as standard or give us the option to add it. I would of checked that option box!

‘Thirding’ MystroX5 ‘s point! I’d pay extra for it for the same reason; would make life easier with the kids

Stupid question from a newbie: Are there any body changes expected for the MY 2025 X7? I have a production number for a ‘24 X7 M60i (but no confirmed production date yet), so is there any compelling reason to wait and push it to a ‘25 despite the small bump in price?

TIA for your thoughts!

I heard no changes except for the DAP listed above. I asked 3 dealers and all said the same thing. I would think some updates to parts as they gear up for a new model year.

very unlikely there will be any body changes until the next gen G67 X7 comes out fall of 2027. the LCI in 2023 was the mid lifecycle refresh.

This is where BMW is missing a golden opportunity that Porsche has perfected. Why doesn’t BMW nickel and dime their customers with these added fringe options for an additional cost. Come up with a large à la cart menu. Full Alcantara sunshade, etc….

Beauty is these are options BMW already had before for free, but now can charge $500 and up per option. Put the “luxury” back in the luxury car brand.

Ok, cool, good to know. That said, I just spoke to my sales guy and we switched my ‘24 X7 M60i order to a ‘25, easy peasy 👍

Just remember that cost you 2200 plus 400 if you got DAP. But you have a MY 25 which should retain value longer.

Actually, it's a $1600 bump for the 40i models.

$81,900 -> $83,500

Plus $400 more for the DAPP "look to change lanes"

$2,100 ->$2,500

$2K more for essentially the same car if you're getting DAPP.
