So an All-Weather tire might have been better. It's a new category of tire. It's pretty much an all season tire that's winter biased, has a 3-peak snowflake on the sidewall but you can drive it all year long.

There are some pretty cool comparisons on YouTube about them. Pretty cool technology behind them, some even have 50k plus warranties.

Gorgeous vehicle! Apparently I need to start dropping hints to my man. We’re both car enthusiasts, but I think I’m slowly converting him to BMW every time he drives my ‘15 X5 F15 (one of his is a Lexus GX 470).

Definitely want to get into an X7 eventually. This one is goals!!

Thanks! We upgraded from an X5 which is already a great vehicle. We just needed the extra space. The X7 just checked all the boxes in terms of luxury and looks for us.

If it suits your needs I say do it! No sense in spending 6-figures on a vehicle that you don’t love. I will say though. Modding is an addiction. First thing we do while car shopping is think of ways to make it look better or unique.

Snow day! Ceramic coating helped keep it cleaner looking for a short while.

Indeed. Especially in a car line full of Teslas. Soft close doors are a plus too.

I’ve yet to find the benefit of these soft close doors. I have them too but I just close the door like normal.

But I have two young boys that aggressively slam everything they can. Lol

Soft close lets you be more gentle with the door. Instead of using force to ensure that it actually latches, you can hold the door all the way to just short of being closed and let the mechanism do the rest. I have a loaner right now without soft close and I found myself not fully closing the door for the first couple days because of the muscle memory.

Helps you sneak in the house without waking up the wife when you stay out a little too late.

Thanks!

In case you missed it, the PPF and ceramic coating were both a DIY project.

PPF materials cost $3K. Ceramic coating bottle $100.

In my area, I was quoted $9.5K-$12K for PPF on an X7. This varies depending on region and installer.

Tint I paid to have installed and it was $550.

You can install M mirrors top cover cap + supporting ring part instead of standard ones. Cost is ~ 125 euro + VAT per mirror.

Tires are Continental DWS 06 all season tires in OEM sizes. 275/40/22 and 315/35/22. Fitment wise there’s no issues. Wheels/tires are not super flush to the fenders but fine for now. In OEM 22” sizes all season tires are very limited for the X7. I would prefer Michelin tires since I think their side walls are better looking compared to Continental but it’s currently not an option. The Continental tires drive great though.
Hey, got two questions about the wheel size.
Since you mentioned no custom ET's, does the extra 1" in front and rear compared to OEM's make up for it? I wanted to get these but so they pop out more than OEM but I dont want use spacers due to EU laws...
Second, any riding quality difference or consumpion increase?

Massive props for doing it yourself. I would be a ball of nerves installing the PPF. I’ve watched install videos and the material looks fairly forgiving but I don’t think I have the patience/fortitude to do it half as nicely as your final product. Good job by you.

These off the shelf wheels and offset fits well and looks good. It’s not super flush but good enough for a family SUV. You could opt for HRE forged wheels and get any offset you want but that’s 3x-4x the cost. The thought of fuel consumption while buying wheels for an SUV never crossed my mind. Mounted wheels/tires for the X7 is heavy AF if you’ve never had to swap or physically move them around the garage.
