Kako je jedinica? Uzmam ovu godinu za ED M3 za mene and sinu 1M isto ED.
That was towards Croatian. I'm getting myself an M3 and my son a 1M, and I forwarded this to his phone.. he was ecstatic to say the least. And as well, when we do our two ED's this summer, mineral white M3 and alpine white 1M! And yes; it will be video taped! Thanks for the pics and video! That is BMW's EU up/down shift arrows. In neutral you get those arrows. When in gear, it will show you which gear you are in, and then show you and UP or DOWN arrow to up or down SHIFT. The whole idea is to save gas and not lug the engine. Dackel PS: I bet this car also has BMW's stop/start feature as well. |

Really nice! I must see a VO in person, it's different on every pic! I hope that there will be a VO very soon, in some showrooms here in Benelux!!

More precisely, it shows you those two "arrows" when you are in the correct gear and if you're not in the most efficient gear, it indicates you which one you might select, indicating the number of the gear. I had it on my first car, a VW Golf VI GTI and it didn't work very vell. But on BMW's it's very well done, always correct. Last but not least : the 1M has NOT the start and stop ! And for me it's much better like that ! Start & Stop is boring on a 118d, so on a 1M.........

One more interesting pic :
As I said, I don't know how fun is the engin at high revs, but at 1300rpm, it's still as powerful as the N54 in the 306ps version And I also forgot to say that the fuel qualitiy that is recommended in the 1M is SP98. And on the N55 135i which arrived at the same time that the 1M, it's still the 95 which is recommanded...

I've owned many many cars that are much sportier and several times more expensive than this car, but everytime I see a new picture or video, it just arouses me like not many recent car of mine has done.
And Chris, thanks for all this. Great to hear that the clutch is much heavier than the 135i. One of the issue I have with the 135i is the lightness of the clutch. To me, light clutches devoid of feel. For that reason I love the clutch on my 997.2 GT3. And whilst I don't expect the 1M to have as heavy duty a clutch, it's great news for me that it is much heavier than a 135i. |

Thanks for the postings Chris-507.
Is it fair to assume that you or someone in your family has a 507? If so - wow. Looking at the dash cowl in the last pic I can see that I'll have to get an alcantara brush. |

Welcome Chris. You are a lucky man at 19! Great to see us younger guys represented, although you are a fair bit younger than me!
Awesome write-up Chris, really got me excited. Like Way said I've had the pleasure of being around some nice machines but this just gets my heart racing. Cannot wait to have it sitting outside my door. Really really love that exhaust rasp on the video! Thank you posting it up. |

I can tell you when my AW 1M is there if you want, our dealer will probably show you the car Quote:
An no, the clutch is not as heavy as in the 997.2 GT3...... Quote:
507hp is the power of the M5 e60 in "european horsepower". With the V10, the 8'300rpm, the sound and the violence of the SMG III, the M5 e60 is the most exciting car we ever got my father and me (one in 2005, the second in 2007), this is why I choose "507" in my name Quote:
Yes, very lucky... The sound in the video is nothing, compared to the reality

No, we don't have that feature on US spec cars. Only on EU/RoW cars. Quote:
What? BMW doesn't reccomend E10? lol <jk> I think every performance car should run SuperPlus (98 octane) in it. Maybe BMW says to use SP bc of the overboost feature. I wonder what they say to use in the Z4 drive3.5is - since that car also have overboost feature. Dackel |

My dealer always tells me "SP98/100" for ///M engines, other 95 is fine. This is what he told for the X1 28i of my mother and for my 135i. Yes it's maybe for the overboost, I asked me the same question about the /4 35is but I don't know which fuel quality is recommended in the roadster

It's because the engine is optimized for 98 octane to get more output. If you use 95 octane gas, you'll lose some horse power.

I'm really not pleased to see that muffler with that cheap chrome tips on it like we saw on the pre-production models. That's poor, just hoped the final version would have been done with more attention to the detail. |

I thought every engine had more power with 98 than with 95

On the other hand, if you use gas with 100 octane the engine COULD produce more power, but nothing will happen. That's because the gas COULD be compressed further because of its higher octane value and produce more power, but the engine can not compress more than already on the highest point of the pistons (mechanically). So you won't get more power if you use gases with higher octane values, but you'll lose power if you use gases with lower octane than the optimum. So BMW adjusts the ignition to 98 octane, giving you more power at 98 octane but you have to use 98 octane to get it. Use 95 octane and you'll lose some hp. |
