Hi, does this mean 24MY x40is will have HUD as standard?

Yes, nothing has changed.

Previous version of the ordering guide listed 610 heads-up display as standard equipment.

New version of ordering guide (3/1) lists 6U3 Live Cockpit Pro (Inc HUD, Video AR) as standard.

At the top of the 3/1 version, it says 610 feature deleted because it was replaced in the guide with 6UP.

No I haven't. I am just saying compared to the vehicles I have driven I feel the X7 handles quite well. I am directly comparing to X5, 5 series, 3 series, etc.

IAS makes the X7 maneuver as well as an X3.
i basically forget how big the X7 is in comparison to the X3 it replaced.
i can make a U turn on the tight streets of NYC in the same or less space it would take to turn the X3

X3 is 39.4 feet for the turning circle
X7 without IAS is 42.6
X7 with IAS is ~39.3

2nd Dealer confirms no HUD on April 40i orders and "Genius" agrees. Candidly, I don't believe any of them really know for sure. Will wait to order until someone has a solid confirmation there will be a HUD. That said, BMW5and7's post makes sense and offers encouragement that there will likely be one!

Like someone said above It was just deleted and replaced as a different package. If the x7 was losing HUD I would think every model below it would lose it as well.. which isn’t the case. Just inexperienced salesman that have no idea what they are talking about.

Thanks. You are probably correct, but I plan to wait and see. Coupled with my HUD question is that I would like to see some early owner reports on their 2024 X7s regarding any initial quality issues.

Input from dealer #3:

"Thanks for your patience. Looks like HUD will be delayed for 2024 X7. I am trying to get an ETA date."

They may be wrong, but they are consistent LOL.

If the '24s get delivered early in cycle with ID8 and not 8.5 like the LCI G05 and G06, this can now be removed. Mine have been unlocked and although I was hoping the area between high beams and low beams would fully disappear, it is much less noticeable with the high beams matrixing than when they were not. Having unlocked lights in my last few cars, it's a must and I was a bit disappointed early on that it wasn't possible on the X7. I assume iD 8.5 will reset the clock on people figuring out how to do it again.

Can you explain your "hackable" comment? Is it deleting 5AP from the VO?

I am not sure if it is that or VLC. I got an email from the person who's done my coding in the past saying ID8 had opened up. After he remoted in and I did an update on the car that was available, it now works.

It's possible it's VO and it can't be signed until the update installs and that's the workaround. I really don't have the technical breadth to answer but given it's still winter I can immediately tell it works basically the same as the G06 X6M sitting right next to it. I do find these headlights to be a bit strange as compared to the G05/G06. I'm not as impressed with them There's plenty of light output; however, it still doesn't seem to be going as well in the right direction as the G05/G06.

I found one Canadian site that says HUD is not available for the 2024 BMW X7.

Brigitte,

Thanks for the update. I had hoped the dealers I spoke to were wrong. I am going to wait and may consider the Lexus TX depending on availability. It is still hard for me to believe that the highly desired HUD will not initially be available. Once we get used to these new tech features, they are hard to do without.

Are you able to provide the link to the Canadian site? I have a week 14 ‘24 build and may postpone if HUD is not available.

[QUOTE=Jon Shafer;29912452]Don't believe everything you are told or read here.

HUD is STD on MY 2024 X7 xDr40i, period.

Hi Jon, there are some posts in the forum about HUD not being available initially in MY24 X7 40is. Wanted to check if you heard anything around this. Could you shed some lights?

I think it's clear that dealers are getting confused with the ordering guide which shows feature 610 (HUD) being deleted:

However they seem to be missing the part about Live Cockpit Pro (including HUD) being standard:

Also I checked my pending build online, and it shows Live Cockpit Pro under standard features.

That is good news although open to interpretation on the configuration document. Do you have any authoritative basis for your conclusion? If so, I will likely place my order. Thanks for your input!
