I'm guessing the 1 series is not the typical "enthusiast" car that attracts owners to online forums, and the PacNW doesn't have a large population to actively support the micro-fraction of people who are.
If you look at other active regional forums (PacNW forum on vwvortex.com, 6speedonline.com, e90post.com) you'll find most topics are related to: 1) organized events and casual get togethers 2) local assistance/questions/recommendations 3) photo shoots 4) For sale/want to buy Is anyone here interested in those topics? If not, there won't be much traffic. There's something to be said about the inclusiveness and enjoyment of socializing with people who appreciate the same vehicle. At the peak of my Z3 ownership, we regularly had 15 to 20 Z3s attend drives and other social events. At first you focus on the cars, then you eventually focus on the people. How cool would it be to park this many 1s on Canyon Rd outside Yakima? |

^^Probably be there, hopefully the weather doesn't suck
And yes PNW 1er owners are horribly unmotivated to do anything. I like going on meets and drives - what gives? Revelate - you should go a few threads down and see the Dicks meet thread and show up there, I'm there almost every week

The Tuesday meets at Dicks in Seattle or the Wednesday meets in Tacoma are pretty good. Plenty of E36 M3s show up and some other good looking BMWs.

Gotta move or organize something
Too bad you don't live over here...14 May we had 26 1'ers at Nurburgring then 21 May we had roughly 40+ at BMW Welt.
Check out http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...12#post9681112 Looks like a challenge for you to start organizing things in your area. Ciao, Rikx135 |
