Awww, thank guys. I'm sure you know the anticipation that comes with this. I've especially been watching the weather as time gets closer, given that this will be right at the end of winter, and the storms that just swept the country. Greenville, SC looks nice and sunny for the PCD on Wednesday, high of 65 F. Then when I start the road trip in March, weather looks to be even better, everwhere I'm headed. Some rain, but especially watching that temps stay above freezing, and no ice/snow. That can certainly change, though, so I'll adapt as necessary.

What day are you taking delivery? I assume you'll get to drive it on the track before it goes to the shop for paint protection.

Wednesday is the big PCD day. They don't let anybody driving their own car on the track. (and I wouldn't want to drive my brand new BMW on the track, regardless of model, before I've properly broken it in). So they let you drive their car, the same model as you've bought.

So the only driving I'll be doing in the new X7 that day is the 9 miles or so to the auto spa, lol. (after sitting in it with a Genius for a couple hours learning how stuff works). Everything else will be beating up BMW's cars!

With all of the time you have spent in this forum do you really think you will need a few hours with a BMW Genius? You will probably know more than they do....

lol, thanks. yes, perhaps. Still sure I can glean something from them, though, in addition to setting everything up with me.

Had a nice day, arrival in Greenville, BMW dinner at the Marriott. Certainly looking forward to the morning!

I know I'm last to congratulate you, but it's about f'ing time! Can't wait to see your PCD photos and enjoy the experience.

Ahhh the memories. Hopefully the menu didn't change cause the steak was f'ing delicious.

Wet rainy PCD morning arrival

Oh wow. What a great day. Start to finish, I had a perma-grin plastered on my face throughout the PCD. Great driving. Great BMW staff. Fan-freaking-tastic vehicle delivered.

I have so much to share. So here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to start a new thread this weekend specifically detailing my PCD experience, and then showing my month-long road trip back to Alaska as I go along.

In the meantime, here's some teasers:

Enjoy! I've done PCD three times and it never gets old. Can't imagine driving 4000+ miles right after!

I only have 14k miles nearly 2 years after my M5 PCD!!!
