Post MD Emissions

Hello M3P,

Picking up a E92 M3 with ACM test pipes, MPE and BPM Stage II Tune at the end of the month . Wondering if passing MD emissions will be and issue with this set up. Anyone with similar mods in MD pass emissions, if not, how did you pass?

Thanks in advance!

Register in St Mary's one of the other counties with no emission testing, problem solved lol.

But seriously it should still pass depending how the software eliminates the CEL for no cats. They will plug into your OBD2 port and check for readiness signals and if it checks out you will pass.

That's a relief, I was going to try and find an x pipe I could "rent" for a day! Thanks for the feedback!

Not sure in MD but here in NoVA they do check for cats by looking under the car

Hope that's not the case for MD. Last I can remember, I pulled up they plugged something in and I got a sheet of paper and receipt and I called it a day. Anyone in MD confirm?

MD typically does not look for them. A lot of cars you can't see them anyway, my old GTI the cat was up by the turbo and no way to see it without putting the car on a lift.

You'll be fine. I passed in HoCo a few months back. Just make sure you've driven the car daily for a week or so. Mine had sat for several weeks and when I went there wasn't enough data available to pull from the port. Drove daily for about a week and passed with no problem.
