In practice MacOS is a simpler bit of software with a much smaller legacy compatibility requirement, on the other hand Vista is excessivly bloated and complex. Pay your money and take your choice. me I use VMWare and run a variety of systems. Ubuntu (with Gnome) is probably my favourite. |

Well my 24" 2.8 iMAC is reportedly arriving today and I have my leopard disk ready to install + 2gb of ram to install. Making the jump from PC so a little learning will be required but I am looking forward to the jump!

You didn't fancy taking apple up on their offer of £90 for a 1gb SoDimm? Funny that .... The iMacs are nice machines though. I am on the verge of getting one to replace my heavily modded G4. |

No apparantly tiger ships and order the up to date leopard, the person on he end of phone reckons that 50% will ship with pre installed over the next month. Guaranteed to get leopard sometime in Dec.
Me no stupid crucial memory all the way. i just cannot see how they justify the price

Just uploaded Leopard and it's.
Bought my MacBook after Leopard came out, but it was slightly older stock, so went to Apple's website and have been sent Leopard for £5.95 p&p!! How cool is that? Anyway it's all shiny, and after my computer's screen hiccup, I'm loving my Mac. |

Remember and update to 10.5.1 - it makes the whole thing a bit more stable and seems to iron out a few niggles.

I have has all sorts of network issues on mine - wouldn't automatically recognise the home preferred network, wouldn't store the WPA key in teh keychain etc etc.
After a few hours at the weekend without any sucess all magically was fine on Monday morning. Really pissess me off that - if you fix something you always want to know what you did to sort it out Anyway, aprat from that its a great machine & a nice os. |

I bought a Macbook recently and it came with 10.5 on it, but it was from the New York store so perhaps they updated quicker.
I do love MacOS, even though I still have a PC. I'm trying VMware on it to see how well it works, so far it seems fine, although installing XP is such a chore compared to OSX, it takes forever :sad0147: |
