I think there are two different types of LED lights on offer it seems in Australia (which I think are loosely based on EU spec). The 50e comes with adaptive lights on my spec. This is the brochure snap...

Yes but as explained above, that does not mean they turn with the steering wheel just that they move up and down.

I have some seat time in a X5 LCI. what I think, instead of headlight swivel according to steering input, now they are matrix. So certain portion of light turn on or off depend on steering. Now I have to say I didn't get a good chance to test this feature, but I do see light pattern changes with steering input. Maybe someone with LCI full LED can test and let us know.

As for Laser, I have it in my pre LCI. I have to say you won't miss it. First it doesn't get activated often. In urban highway with moderate traffic, chances is very close to zero. In dark mountain road where condition for sure met laser activation criteria, I cannot say I see a noticeably improvement in illumination.

i think this is a non-issue. i had laser lights in pre-lci, i have adaptive led lights in my 50e. i dont see any difference driving around in the city. the adaptive high beams worked well in both. life goes on! 50e is a great car.

That's correct but your previous post said lasers were dropped on all BMW models in 2022.

No he didn't, you misunderstood him. He said it was dropped from all new models and LCI's starting in 2022. Your model, the pre-LCI started in 2018.

Thank you for pointing out, I was wrong but am happy to admit it not like some others on here.

Sorry for the ignorance, but am I reading everything correctly by interpretting that the 2025 is the same as the 2024 as it changed in 2022?

I have a 25 on order and have the 24 now.

Never be sorry for asking a question. The LCI was last year so the MY24's and MY25's are the same (other than adding lane change by eye to MY25).

The LCI came out in 2023, even though it is known as the 2024, all very confusing, the 2025 is out now.

The big loss in Europe at least is the matrix function. I guess the US never officially had that.

By Matrix I'm assuming you mean the adaptive driving beams/anti-dazzle. You are correct in that we never had that as standard/option in the US but I have not heard that it was gone with these lights in Europe. That would be a huge loss. I would imagine we will get feedback from European owners.

Edit: US vehicles still have 5AP so you would think that anti-dazzle is still available unless they always add that to US vehicles no matter the features/options.

I think it has, sadly. I think it’s great on my current 530e.

Yes in some case, but the blue stuff is cancelled out if shadow line package is ordered (blacked out)

That is too bad. I have it coded on both of mine and it does make a difference.

It definitely does. Between the matrix and laser, best lights I ever had!

Yours is pre LCI I think. For LCI if I remember correctly the package that black out nose and tailpipe also black out the fake “blue” bit in LED headlights for US market. I vaguely remember rule is different for Europe as well
