2020-2021 BMW Winter Season Wheels and Tires Released
BMW has released their winter wheels and tires for this year's season. Here's the ones for the X7. Get them while their hot. They tend to sell out within a month or so.
Looks to be about the same lineup as previous years, perhaps one or more of the silver wheels are new. I think I'll be going with the black 21" 752's, as I get my order sorted out. https://www.getbmwparts.com/c-g07-x7-2019--611 |

I'm seeing some sets that are listed for other BMW models that may work for the X7 as well, such as this 21" set listed for the G05, if this floats your boat. There may be others.

thoughts on putting 285/40/22 all seasons all around on M50i for a mild winter here in mid atlantic? called tire rack, and they said 285 definitely fits up to 10.5 wheels, so should be ok in the back

Go with 21” AS as a 4x4 set-up is more effective. I have driven though ice, snow, sleet with AS tires in total control. I drive from PA to Florida every Feb with AS tires. |

I'm on the fence. I'm leasing. Last year the winter was very warm here in NY and I didn't drive on cold days. I have a second car. Should I kick out cash for a winter setup? What would you guys do?

If it were me, and you have "all seasons" (no seasons), I'd just stick with those. If you have Z-rated summer tires, then I'd get a winter set.

After seriously considering all seasons, I ended up getting the full winter set up for my second set of 22s. Pirelli's Scorpion winter run flats same size as OEM summer performance 275/40/22 front and 315/35/22 rear. Its not much more expensive to get these winter tires than descent all seasons, which are not available in exactly the same sizes as original staggered set up. and of course, with winter run flats no need for a spare! so that saves money too |

FWIW, I've gone back and forth on the following:
I know others have dealt with the shop, and I second that recommendation. I don't mind the 21" packaged prices from TR @ ~$2900, but I can rationalize the extra $1K or so to get a set that is not only more esthetically pleasing, but I can see myself using year-round in an A/S tire setup. Good luck!

I have X7 40i with Tire size: 285/45/r21 M+S Run flat with 113H.
I did not want to pay dealership $4,000+ just for couple of months use per year. So got these new BMW compatible Tires: 285/50/R20 and Wheels: 9"/R20.(Studded) Wife drove for ~3 months about 3 to 4k miles. Wheels and tires are in excellent condition. We just relocated south east and snow tires & wheels no longer needed. I paid $2,610, but Selling everything for $1,900 plus shipping. Let me know if anyone is interested. (I have the receipt.) I am curious to know how the winter performance will compare between the new 22" Pirelli Winter Scorpion Run Flats vs. 21" Bridgestone Blizzaks.
I think I'm just gonna swap the rubber on my 22" 758i wheels this time around rather than do a dedicated winter setup with 21" 754M. |

Don't suppose anyone has got the 20" 750 winter wheel set and could give any feedback, or even post some pictures of them on the car?
I'm just trying to decide between these and the 21" 754 wheels - I like the look of the 21's, but just wondering if the 20's would be better in the bad weather, being 255 profile rather than 285. |

I ran the 754M on Blizzak run-flats last year. Was a noticably more comfortable ride compared to my 22" run flat setup for the other seasons (which I found surprising : 22" setup very comfortable and doesnt' bang around, even in sport setting).
For the winter set up, I didn't toss it around much but it felt good. Only beef is that visually I much prefer the 22 inch look. Interesting that they now offer that rim on both Pirellis and Blizzaks. The Pirelli I've owned on past SUVs and is great in non-run flat from. Can't speak to RF |
