Desperately Need a Coding Guru
Hi,
I seem to have disabled my G07 while trying to code the default start up drive mode to Sport Individual. I was using BimmerUtility with an Enet cable and was partially successful. When I locked the car the air suspension went all the way down and then pumped back up. I unlocked the car and the air ride control panel is unresponsive. No lights or anything. I attempted to restore the body module from a back up but now it is even worse. Car won't start, lost ambient lighting, comfort access, thinks all the doors and hatch are open, etc. iDrive has a bunch of errors regarding safety equipment. Now whenever I go back into the module I receive this error. I clicked "OK" and I can see the parameters but nothing is working. Here are the DTC errors. Is this something that can be fixed or is this a trip to the dealer? |

Here is what iDrive is displaying. Also notice the red car icon in the middle of the safety halo button.
Interesting it says "continued driving possible" considering I can't put the car in neutral or start the engine. I also noticed that drive modes are no longer displayed. Comfort, Sport, Eco, Adaptive buttons don't change anything and where the text should be on the gauge cluster is blank. To add to the fun, reading the BDC module some of the entries are set to "unknown". Last edited by pierceal1027; 11-11-2024 at 12:38 AM.. |

This is my worst nightmare. I managed to disable ASS with Bimmercode, and then packed it away, and turned off BMW updates. For me, nothing else is worth rolling the dice for.
If BU has a technical support line, call them first. If BU has no answer, you could try reinstalling the last BMW update (my understanding is that this is possible). If update reinstall fails, I see no alternative than the dealer. Good luck, and I hope you find a quick solution! |

BU has been helpful thus far. No luck so far restoring from backups as I only backed up a few of the CAFD files in the ECU. There are many of them in the BCD and of course I changed the one I didn't backup...
I investigated just recoding from VO in Esys: Connect => Read FA (VO) => Activate FA (VO) => Read SVT (VCM) => Left-Click on desired ECU => Click on "Detect CAF for SWE" => Select the CAFD from latest I-Level shown => Select OK => Right-Click on ECU (the ECU itself not the underlying CAFD) => Select CODE. I was able to read the module in Esys but I see there are many CAFD and most instructions say to use the latest version. The CAFDs end in different numbers for example the one with a 2023 date shows _113 but the 2024 date shows _260 (if memory serves). When I clicked on it it tried to add it to the list instead of replacing _113. Before I do anything I want to be sure I don't mess things up even further by creating some sort of incompatibility between module versions. |

Looks like a new software update just dropped. You should be able to download to your phone and connect to the car via USB.

That is not how the updates work. They are not on demand and you need to wait until your VIN is selected for an update. Once that occurs the phone is not connected by USB but rather Bluetooth and WiFi for transfer to the vehicle.

07/2024.xx is the current OTA version being distributed. .30 was the last minor version I have seen but that could change.

Do you know how long the roll out usually is? Days? Weeks?
