It’s a great look providing you never drive it, get it dirty or get any stone chips. It’s the most unforgiving paint you can put on a vehicle. The only salvation to frozen paint is to do a full body PPF wrap. My dealer has had so many complaints with frozen paint over the years they will not order it and makes the owner sign a disclosure of awareness if they insist on it in their order.

yep. Or just get frozen gray wrap and place over any other regular color offered. Less maintenance and will cost less too.

I was at the shop I’m going to have my ceramic coating done and they had a frozen black X5M. I learned them that the stealth wraps were initially designed for frozen/satin/matte paints, as a way to protect the finish against having to repaint a whole panel because you can’t touch it up. They were in the process of rewrapping the front? Which got dinged up. I kind of find it crazy that you’d spend $5k for the paint then another $7k for the wrap. Money yo burn. Looks great but still.

Looks amazing. I'd have it in a heartbeat if I could keep up with the maintenance on a matte/flat paint. I know my limitations!

Awesome looking color. Get a wrap and you don't have to worry about maintenance for years to come. I use to just do the fronts and rockers, now I just do the whole vehicle… works great at the self car wash when you use the brush on it and people think you are nuts 🤣. I never have to worry about scratching the paint.

They make you sign a disclosure to make it clear you can’t buff or polish the paint. I signed those disclosures and had a Frozen Silver E92 M3 and a Frozen Grey M4 GTS. Two is the easiest cars I’ve ever had to take care of. SwissVax sells an opaque wax for matte paint and it works like a charm. Most of the time I could could just pressure wash it, spray foam on it with a canon, let it sit, spray it off and blow it dry with a leaf blower and it was spotless…

Love the look, but I can't take care of a black car. I can't imagine the frustration I would feel when something damages frozen paint.

It is a tough pill to swallow, but still worth it imo.

Every single owner I have ever spoken to have said it's the easiest paint to maintain. Would you need to repaint a whole panel if it gets damaged? Yes. Otherwise, it's low maintenance.
