Sadly most people don't take care of their cars and have no clue the care frozen paint needs. If I ever go that route it's full PPF on top

While I don't disagree with you if you want to keep the paint looking pristine, the reality is that most of the frozen pure grey X7's out there will be leases and the owners won't give a hoot about any of the drawbacks of frozen paint or what's necessary to keep them looking perfect.

Isn't matte paint a single stage process? Curious why it's difficult to maintain?

It’s the exact same process as gloss except for the clear coat. It’s not difficult to maintain. It’s difficult to correct as you cannot buff or polish it. That’s it. And since you can’t buff or polish it you can’t wax it except for very particular waxes, like SwissVax Opaque and you have to do it by hand.

So you've got frozen colour and máte ppf on top of that?

Yes for the ultimate protection as you're aware if you scratch it you can't fix it unless you repaint

Man that's some hefty amount of money for a colour 😅 still would love to go with Frozen Pure grey, but maybe i'll try matte PPF on Brooklyn grey, could look good too and will save me some $$$ (€ respectively)

Skyscraper Grey is going to get you closer to his Frozen color than Brooklyn. If that's what you're going for.

I have a frozen marina bay blue M5 and regret getting a frozen color. swirl marks that can't be polished out and needing to repaint a whole panel for a scratch that could otherwise be polished out is annoying.

I'd rather order regular gloss paint and the premium paid on frozen just install xpel stealth, would get the same affect with the added benefit of protection

Thank you for your input. I was unaware of swirling potential with matte paint. I guess it really needs full PPF to deter swirl marks in addition to avoiding patina, etc.

Add the stealth ppf and your scratches will disappear

I placed an order for an M60i in frozen grey, the changed to brooklyn grey for these reasons of high maintenance. I’m thinking of stealth ppf as well but would really like to see what brooklyn grey would look like with stealth ppf? Anybody have a pic out there of that combo?

To each their own, but I would think that would be the most primer look you could get.
