Everyone criticizing the looks (which are fine) must also think the M2 leaks are fakes.

This looks fantastic compared to your other options, so don't complain.
Im not sure what you're getting at. With the M2 posts, I'm annoyed with the censorship. IMHO the new M2 is both hideous and likely real. I have a similar opinion here but I'm not on board with much from BMW recently.

This is a prime example of what marketing does best and why the initial pictures of the G87 were taken down. The G87 was shot at off angles and up close, we never really saw the entire picture. If the XM was done the same, we all would have a field day with how dumb it looks.

I actually think it looks much better than what I expected. It might have some presence in real life.

In fairness, this gets announced tonight so I expect a leak. But I do think the M dept is excited about the XM and put a lot of time in developing it.

The M2 looks are downright awful, and I just don't suspect BMW has interest in selling great driving cars in the sub $100k price point anymore.

This is a subject for a different thread, but the G87 M2 gives off the air that it was "developed and built to a price point". The G8x M3/M4 and CSL/CS versions, as well as this XM, we're just developed to be great cars like the M2 CS and M5 CS.

Be expected to pay up for that.

Agreed. It seems to work on this vehicle. I can't stand in on the 7 series or the X7 for that matter. The X7 was so beautiful and then they screwed it up. I don't mind the XM though

It looks decent, but it doesn't look aggressive enough, i would expect this front bumper to be a non m sport line. It would also look wayyyyy better with better rims and blacked out window trim and grills

I like it! Looks like it's running 325 size tires all around .. I'll wait until someone buys and can't afford then price comes down. Not paying $200K for this

This is purely a marketing and design exercise by BMW. We all know that the only BMWs that still fulfill the original brand ethos are the 2-series and maybe the 3-series.

BMW brand enthusiasts will buy these, but not BMW enthusiasts. I can already see these crawling around West LA, Vancouver, etc.

BMW is apparently drawing inspiration from early 00s Dodge. The new M2 looks like it was inspired by the Avenger and the grille on the XM looks like it was inspired by the Magnum. Not a good direction IMHO.

On the plus side its really nice to see that some effort was made to integrate the screen into the dash on the XM.
