The presence of "Toyota Gold package from 1990s" suggests that XM is still trying to define itself while searching for the target customer.

Looking forward to BMW sales reports.

The design is definitely growing on me. This thing will have insane road presence.

As far as the split headlights- they almost nailed this over the i7 and def the x7.

I think the "hate" in many minds is it's not ungodly fast like a Plaid or Urus. Had this suv posted 0-60 times that made it seem dangerous- it would be a huge win for BMW fanboys.

I drove a performance Tesla the other day and felt it was blindingly fast. Almost a little dangerous. Made me like it a little more where the exterior design doesn't wow me. But the Minimalistic Interior kind of does. Even if it's a car designed for me NOT to drive it
Had one. Don't miss it. It's not all about speed, but I agree with you that at this price point it needs to be very quick.

Can't wait for the near 800hp model to come out. Gonna be sweet. Thinking bout getting on the waiting list and doing a PCD but need to figure out my charging situation.

Why would they not opt for the gold accent wheels on this? To me, it’s either have the gold everywhere or nowhere

The contrasting colors and gold accentuate some of the odd design language—dark color with SL for me.

I don’t think they are counting on selling many XMs in Switzerland. At least in Zurich and Geneva, I don’t think I would be able to find an appropriate parking spot for this wide beast.

This needs extended shadowline, or if BMW M wanted to be really cool, maybe a carbon fiber trim option or silver trim.

Looks terrible, a lipstick on a pig. We need some shadowline accents.

He has a weird taste (or sense of humour).

Now it makes sense why BMW designs are approved as they are.

gold trim on hero car gives you an idea where and in which markets this car will be primary seller.

This car's officially grown on me and I love it! Definitely not trying to pony-up for one but I love it.
