Thumbs up Falken ziex stz05

Hello all, new here to the forum.
I have the infamous 22 inch 3 season run flat Continentals that last all of 5 minutes and have been doing a lot of reading here and research online regarding different setups in an attempt to get out of run flats and into all seasons.
My caveat is that I've only put a hundred miles on them but they feel pretty good, not quite as smooth but that's expected due to the more aggressive tread.
I just wanted to pass this along that rather than a 285 square setup which has me concerned about the rear tire load rating, I went with 285s up front and 305s on the rear.

I'll update if my impressions change, but for 1500 all in including mounting and balancing and tire insurance through America's Tire, so far I'm pleased.

I hope this helps those of you who are still searching. And if anyone thinks I've made a terrible mistake, I'd like to hear that too.

You have any pics of how this set up looks would be helpful?

I will probably get home too late this evening to take a decent picture but I'll try to get a couple uploaded tomorrow.

In general, they look good and the 305 is only slightly narrower than the 315s, therefore, not really noticeable but with the added benefit of being a bit better than an a/s 315 for the snow.

Even better now

I guess I had to have a couple of more posts to get the pics up.
First attempt to load pics on this forum.
In the meantime, I've put quite a few more miles on the tires and really like them so far.
I will be taking them on a long road trip in desert and mountains with twisties and will give another report.

Are the diameters of these tires close enough in the front and back to not create any issues with the transmission?

Are the rears 305/40-22? I didn't see a 305/35-22 on their website. Stock are 315/35-22.

285/40/22s for the front and 305/40/22s for the rears

It’s about a .5 inch larger diameter

I'm no expert but I must say I've really ridden them hard over the last few weeks. After my long drive to and through AZ I just got back from a Big Bear / Lake Arrowhead run, including a very spirited drive up the hill with quite a few turns as well as some with ice and snow in the shade still on the road.

This included hard braking and hard accelerations as I really wanted to feel the limits of what these tires were capable of, and I experienced no hiccups with the transmission.

I was very much surprised to find little difference between these and the much softer stock tires. All I could feel was a little more texture from the tread coming through the steering wheel just barely, but in terms of total grip I was unable to discern a difference.

Now I'm sure some of you could push it even further, but I tested it as aggressively as I could on public roads.

In short, I've finally ended my search for a replacement for the OEMs, and all that is left is to see how long they last.
