I go to school in CT and love riding Mt. Snow... Seriously thinking about getting a season pass. They have a deal for kids 18-26 to get a season pass for $309 which is a crazy good price. I usually pay more then that for my pass to mountain creek in NJ and the two don't compare at all

That's an extra hour from my school! Plus I love Carinthia at Mt. Snow, you ride Ian?

I haven't really experienced Killington yet though, only rode there once and it was early in the season with only 2 trails open haha

Never got into the terrain park; been into big mountain stuff. I go out west every year. That's where the real riding is at! |

I wish I could go out west, but in NJ the mountains are so small the only thing to do is Terrain, but usually when I get up to Vermont 75% of my time is spent in the trees

If you enjoy riding in in the woods you need to experience Jay Peak. Normally my time is spent 25% in the part the rest is in the woods this pretty much goes for any mtn. The most i can get lost between the trails the better. I love it out west but the snow is completely different. I would say the Top Mtn for myself is Jay Peak when it has a few feet. There have been plenty of times I have had snow up to my chest going though some pow.

I believe its the tallest mountain on the East coast, I haven't been in a few years but the last time I went they opened the very top of the mountain on a perfect bluebird day and it was absolutely beautiful. And I agree, getting lost in the trees is my favorite part about riding big mountains, I would like to think I know most of the sick spots on Mt. Snow because I try to explore as much as I can when I get the chance to ride a big mountain.

It must be awesome having a house that isn't far from the big mountains, I love taking weekend trips but it gets pretty exspensive when lift tickets alone are $90 + a hotel/room + food + gas, adds up way to quickly but its always an awesome fucking weekend

e.g. Two years ago, my student season pass was $400. My dad's normal pass was roughly $1400. Lodging is still expensive, but maybe you could get some buddies together to rent a shit hole party shack for the season. You could probably whittle it down to a few hundred bucks each. |

i miss those student pass prices for snow, its so expensive now. miss having my friday's off from class and taking day trips every friday to ride. now i never get to ride up there anymore.
Chris, its definitely worth it to go up there. Creek and every other little place around gets too damn icy. granted snow does to at times, but nothing like around here though. Nothing beats that CO powder though! |
