Hi All,

Ordered a 2020 X7 xDrive 40i M-Sport in Mineral White. At the time I decided against the extended shadowline, as I never liked the blacked out kidneys on any BMW. I've never been a fan of blacked out wheels either, but I know everyone has their own taste. I have been seeing photos of the white M-sports with the black kidneys, and I have to admit that it looks quite sharp on the X7. I could leave everything as is or DIY after delivery to black.

I usually purchase but this time around I decided to lease. Extended Shadowline was $350 and I missed out on that, so I'd rather keep the cost as close to that just for piece of mind. I've never really been into modding, but have some questions if I decide to black out some trim peices. I assume that if I can simply return to stock and all is well, or if I use Geniune BMW parts that I can simply return the car as is?

Here is what I gathered after some research (leaving the badges in the factory chrome for now). Hopefully this also helps anyone else out there with all these options in the future.

KIDNEYS

1- Pay Vinyl Shop to wrap existing part in gloss black ~$???
2- DIY wrap existing part to gloss black ~$25
3- Buy Spare Chrome 51137453910 ~$50 and DIY wrap/paint ~$25
4- Buy Black Genuine 51138745726 ~$245

EXHAUST TIPS (seems swapping these out takes some work)
1- Leave as is (I don't think I'd mind the look of this)
2- eBay special ~$30 (Yes I realize there is a middle piece, but it looks fine to me)
3- (Not Interested in this but leaving info here for anyone)

In reality, I do think the factory chrome look is still very attractive and all of this is unnecessary. But if I were to do something, I think I would order the Genuine Kidney and leave the exhaust tips chrome. Undecided on the tailgate strip. Open to ideas for everything.
