AFAIK, orders can already be placed and somebody posted just recently that they actually launched production. If everything goes smoothly, delivery in about 2 months.

Nice!

Shows you how accurate the graphics are on the German configurator.

The extended shadow line was described as black grille and black exhaust surrounds while in reality, also includes a black stripe between the taillamps.

On the M50i, of course, far more is blacked out with that package.

Looks sinister all blacked out in M50i trim. Are the seats different? If so are front massaging seats still an option?

Orders already being taken and some who had ordered the MY19 50i have been converted to MY20 M50i.

i personally think if you are going to black it all out like that, i would chose the black v spoke wheels as well. I think those grey wheels look weird if the rest of the car doesn't have the grey trim pieces that are specific to the M50i. I'm on the fence about between doing the shadowline trim and choosing the black wheel option, or going with the cerium grey that comes specific to the M50i (i kind of like that it sets it apart from a 50i with the m sport package).

That's awesome. Yes, far more blacked out than the cerium grey that has been shown to date. You guys are thinking this is more custom than the "extended shadowline trim" offering?

Love it when the paint looks like liquid.

Unfortunately, there is no black wheel option on the M50i.

That's one of the few issues I'm having with the M50i...

I'm quite sure this is the extended shadowline trim. As I said, it looks exactly like on the configurator.

thats so dumb honestly. i don't think the grey matches the shadowline at all. i do like grey when it comes with all the other parts so i guess that is what i'm going with. I'm thinking either carbon black or black sapphire at this point, unless i open up my wallet a little more for tanzanite blue. I'll show you when i'm passing through land o lakes lol.

Ah yes. I was glad to see that for MY2020, the restriction has been dropped from the 1XE 21" style 752 black wheels, that they can now be ordered with the M-sport line. That it's not exclusive to the luxury line. (thinking I'm going to go with these wheels for my Alpine White 40i M-sport) But I didn't see that it's NOT available for the M50i. You're right.

If I'd be getting the M50i with the limited wheel choice as it stands today, I'd opt for the extended shadowline and Black Sapphire and the 22" BMW Individual wheels, Code 1XR. Granted, they aren't black, either, but at least in a quite dark grey.

The other exterior color I could imagine picking would be White Metallic with the same wheels and extended shadowline.

IMO, they should offer the black 22" wheels on the M50i just like they do on the 40i.

Honestly, I wouldn't bet on that.

I'm not seeing a restriction in the OG but on the other hand, it is not listed as an option on the M-sport line.

On the German configurator, selecting 1XE kicks you out of the M-sport line which is not a good sign, either...

Yeah, I've had the thought all along that the restriction drop might have been an error. A few of those showing up in the ordering guides.

I do remember the dealership asking me if I wanted the black wheels. It should be available for the M50i. The massaging seats are available as well with the Luxury Seat Package.

Perhaps if the dealer is willing to jump through some hoops but they certainly are not an official option - not even on the German configurator which is far less restrictive than what we get in the US.

If I would have to guess, the dealer probably didn't know about this restriction because, well, if you don't know about it, you certainly don't expect it.

Cerium

"The new BMW X5 M50i and X7 M50i models feature front bumpers with larger openings to allow for greater air flow to the cooling system. The rocker panels and rear bumpers have been sculptured to set the models apart from the rest of the line. BMW Individual high-gloss Shadowline trim and Cerium Grey highlight selected individual exterior components."

Not sure about that particular image, but as I suggested in another thread, check out the German configurator:

https://www.bmw.de/de/ssl/configurat.../config/PAINT/

This is a Sapphire Black M50i without extended shadowline and it has the cerium grille.
