The combo looks actually great, I'm still
On the fence for the interior color until I see it in person but other than that it's actually a nice combo. Wheels could use a unique style more vents like the vossen or less like the new G80 M3.

The video you've posted is clearly European specs and the other one looks US specs which might explain the different options in both.

I just wish they keep the specs similar world wide And disable those lights to comply with local laws and let Life be.

Yeah, I'm seeing Dark Shadows pop up around the country. Every one I've seen so far has been a base build, nothing else added on.

Very unsure if I'll be proceeding with mine.

That video really shows how beautiful the color is. I just picked up a X7 4.0i for my wife and I had decided that I will pass on my Dark Shadow but now that I see this, we may end up being that family that has 2 X7s.

Just found this video, Dark Shadow model appeared in a middle east dealership. Does show the RSE. Good video for seeing what the matte paint looks like in real life. (indoors)

And here's a new article in Japanese, with black and white photos. Google can traslate the page to English. Article focuses on the matte paint. interesting read.

A Dark Shadow model at Cape Cod BMW, with good real life outdoor pictures, both exterior and interior. Captain's chairs, no RSE.

Talking

Just picked up my dark shadow today!

I absolutely love it. The pictures don’t do it justice, I think because it’s hard to take pics of bc the matte. It looks amazing/better in person than in pics imo. This is absolutely the right car for me and to anyone here who has an allocation I definitely would recommend seeing it in person if you’re on the fence, I think you’ll be convinced.

Here’s my attempt at some quick pics today, I can take more if anyone wants:

Huge props to Dan at Next Level Auto Brokers who secured me this car. I can’t give him enough thanks - deal went super smoothly and he worked with me every step of the way to make sure everything turned out right. Dan was amazing to work with and always so kind/prompt even though I sent him a zillion emails. Would strongly recommend him, and definitely will use him again on future car purchases.

Big congratulations! Yes, I'd like to see more! And I'm very interested in your thoughts on the interior. How does the black and blue leather combo work for you? How about the piano black and aluminum insert trim combo?

Did you change the configuration at all, or did you just go with the standard Dark Shadow config?

There's a Dark Shadow model in 40i currently in Abu Dhabi.

Do you have Rear Seat entertainment? Still haven't seen in the flesh if any US cars get the RSE

Mine has RSE added. On the way from the factory, but not sure if I'll be going through with it.

Mine did not come with RSE, but it wasn't on the build sheet/production tracker so I wasn't expecting it and don't mind it not being included. I believe Wild Blue's does have RSE -- not sure exactly how he got that thrown in, but props to him for doing so.

Abu Dhabi motors are amazing!!! While I live in Dubai, I end up buying my cars from Abu Dhabi motors because they have all special editions with full options!!

In this specific model, they have ordered 2 Dark Shadow units... The 40i (in the photos) and the M50i (parked at my garage ) and I absolutely love it!!!

That's fantastic
I've always told people AD motors always high specs their vehicles way more than AGMC, where the later you drive the exterior model of the vehicle but lack most of the interior features.

My neighbor here in Cali is Abdullah Al Hamid jr. so I'm somehow getting insiders intel 😎

This is really interesting. This last pic of the Dark Shadow at BMW of Bridgeport shows aqua green in this light.

Those who have taken delivery of their Dark Shadow, I'm wondering if you can tell us more about the interior trims. The aluminum insert trim I saw on an X5 wasn't really wood. It was a black plastic herringbone with little silver bits.

And is lower piano black trim actually wood? Or plastic? What's the experience so far of keeping the piano black portions clean, and/or free of fingerprints and scratches?

Here's another odd Dark Shadow, in Poland. Based on an M50d. No glass controls. Carbon fiber rearview mirrors.
