Recommendation for Bimmercode

Awaiting my 2021 X7 but buying all accessories I can .

Can anyone recommend the OBD Adapters to buy for US market? Looking to code the Anti Dazzle as soon as I get the car. I see there are multiple options listed on bimmercode website but wanted to ask the experts on this group here as this will be my first time. I have iOS.

TIA.

As of now, I don't believe that Bimmercode addresses the anti dazzle headlights

I have posted the very question in Bimmercode post, so far no response
https://g07.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...0&postcount=64

I think this can only be coded with ESYS at this point.

I have reached out to the bimmercode folks. Their response is that they have no plans to add the anti-dazzle headlights to their app.

Apparently their app changes settings for existing variables in the software/os, but anti-dazzle needs a "equipment" feature added. Basically telling the computer you have the anti-dazzle lights installed as opposed to turning something on/off (i.e. ASS remember last setting).
(hopefully that explanation makes sense).

(A section of code that tells your car what equipment is installed, vs a different section of code that tells the computer what to do with existing equipment)

Like on a PC, telling it you have a printer installed (anti-dazzle) vs telling it you want to print default in color or black & white.
Bimmercode can change the default setting (i.e. print in black or white) but not change if the computer thinks you have a specific piece of equipment installed (i.e. telling computer you have a particular printer installed).

I am personally a fan of the hardwired approach using an ENET cable and Ethernet to Lightning adapter cable (Android has an equivalent cable). Lightning fast and very reliable since it is a wired connection.

If you're looking for a hardwired connection, r33_RGSport sells one and also does remote coding.

How is this connected? Can you post a link to the cable?

Thanks

Several vendors offer both cables. Below are a few examples after a quick internet search...

BMW ENET Cable, OBD 2 plug on one end, ethernet on the other:

https://x-ph.com/bmw-enet-cable-for-...RoChlcQAvD_BwE

Lightning to Ethernet Adapter:

https://www.amazon.com/Lighting-Ethe...a-822618572145

Put both cables together, plug into your phone and your car, then launch BimmerCode ....

They come in different lengths, but what I have (and what I think is most common) is probably 3-4ft ish. When combined with the typical lightning to Ethernet cable, I have no issues with length as I sit in the driver seat, with my phone, with everything connected.

Thanks for your guidance on this. Got the ENET cable and attachments for my iphone for around $30 and couldn't be happier with speed and reliability. Bimmercode customer service is pretty amazing as well - always got a response from them within a day.
