I have a 2020 ordered which is supposed to be coming this week. Right now I'm at about 9% off MSRP of around $92k. It's a bench on a loaded 40i msport which is hard to find on the lot.

I also have the identical car on order at another store (long story, happened by accident) but it's not assembled yet, maybe 2 weeks behind. How much leverage do you guys think I have at the first store if I'm willing to wait for the second one and walk away.

Looks like my 2020 allocation fell through. PM your build if you don't mind maybe I can grab whichever one you don't order! If not I'll just wait for the 2021s later in the year and hopefully they will have some more incentives.
For some reason I can't seem to attach to the PM. Feel free to reply. By PM if interested. Keep in mind the car is coming to Long Island.

I found this beauty. Specs are almost exactly what i would want in a custom build. I told my salesperson that I would like 11% off before incentives. Build month is 3/20 so it has been there for awhile. Palm Springs is out of the way but they can transport it to L.A.

MSRP $89,945

https://www.bmwpalmsprings.com/new-P...CW2C08L9C89312

UPDATE: They offered me a $6,000 discount. 6.7% off MSRP before incentives. I think that is the best they are going to do. I told them to contact me if anything changes before the end of the month.

It's gorgeous. The same exact color combo I ordered. The average discount is around 7% usually. But you can get that on a new build. I know 2 dealers in Maryland that will get you even more than that in a new build. May I ask why are you after a 2020 when you can build the same exact build in a 2021 for a similar price? The only reason I ordered a 2020 is because I wanted the rear seat entertainment system and the B&W sound system on the 40i (both of which are not offered in MY21)

If I do not get a much better offer on this 2020, then I will probably go with a build order at another dealership. I heard though that the 2021s will not start being built until August which means a September delivery date. I'd rather not wait that long but it may worth it to get the latest iDrive version + Apple carkey support.

I would wait for the 2021 since it will also have the 48v mild hybrid addition to the I6 engine.

Yes. It will probably be a September delivery but I think the wait is worth it. It will be a model year newer. Trust me I am pissed that I had to get a 2020, but those 2 options are a must for me.

I will be happy to hook you up with my dealers if you are interested.

Their best offer was $8000 off MSRP and that included incentives (3500) so I passed.

Yea. That's way too low of a discount in my opinion. You are definitely better off ordering a 2021.

Is it worth buying lemon branded X7 with minor issue

I am considering to purchase a 2019 X7 xDrive 40i lemon branded, reason: “Driver assistant reduced message “; resolution: “Replaced KAFAS Camera and Programmed”

5565 miles original MSRP $88750 has some great upgrades;
dealer price is $67500 not willing to negotiate at all.

Any thoughts...?

This is almost 24% off
I would walk away. It's about the same as any unbranded used vehicle.

I checked with local and dealers around 500 mile radius 2019 x7 with similar options are listed at $76k with more miles about 12 to 16k miles. Saving about 9k price and 10k miles

This is interesting
Why did carfax list the price as based on your zip?

Given that 2021 orders are in and this is a 2019 I would be shooting for 55k or less. You could also walk away and wait a month and it would probably get better as we shift over to the newer model this will only depreciate it more. Plus if it hasn't sold by now and it's been on the lot then it's probably not going anywhere anytime soon.

I've been slowly looking at stock on dealers' websites, one by one, seeing if somebody has a fully loaded 40i M-sport, or M50i. Would like to get a MY20 before the feature losses in MY21. But it seems all I can find is a plethora of mid-level 40i's. Some M50i's that are not fully loaded. I would need every option, or close to it, to make it worth it.

I think it's too late at this point to try to get a MY20 build allocation from anyone. Looks like I might be stuck with a MY21, which means I might have to go with a M50i after all, to get the B&W audio, if nothing else. (or... dare I even think of an XB7?)

The price/value discussion notwithstanding, have you verified the issue was actually fixed? Lemon laws are there for a reason and even if you did get a price/deal that met your $$ requirements, is it worth the hassle of not having one of the key functions of the vehicle potentially not working properly? What are the implications on your warranty regarding a lemon branded vehicle?

FWIW, I recently had my X7 windshield replaced. After the replacement, there was an error with the Advanced Driver System, with the KAFAS camera ultimately requiring replacement. All is working fine now, but in the case of the car you are looking at, I would be very careful that everything works as it should.

Replacing the KAFAS camera and reprogramming the car (which is just updating the software in the car) is an easy fix. There has to be another reason the car was branded a lemon and would be cause for concern with me.

Same issue I was getting there was nothing worth buying on the lot like 1-2 months ago for the level I wanted. In the end I got an all options included M50i 2020 allocation by the skin of my teeth since the combinations and options I wanted were not in the 2021 either even at the M50i level.

I would say if you can stand the non msport look (I really tried) then go for Alpina if you get up to the M50i loaded price tag and you have some extra money ($30k approx) to burn. I don't like the non msport so it was a no brainer for me to get the M50i and for the price difference and the places where I drive that was already overkill. The extra 98hp for the price was not worth the squeeze to me to have a look I was not happy with. You do you brother can't wait for you to get one I've been reading your posts for over a year

You are 100% correct w.r.t lemon law.... lemon laws in California are slightly different and if I remember correctly almost every X7 with DAP was recalled for KAFAS camera reprogramming... it counts towards no. of times at BMW service for same issue... 2 times for same issue within a first year of the vehicle is considered as lemon in California I guess... before reselling the vehicle manufacturer suppose to fix the issue and it is under 4 year bumper to bumper warranty (remaining 2.9 years)

If that is the case, I would make sure to test ALL of the advanced driving features that use the KAFAS camera module, including all of the automatic parking stuff, backup assistant and traffic jam assistant... Good luck with your decision.

That's absolutely crazy. No way that price makes sense for a loaner. Even brand new you should be getting a bigger discount than that off msrp.

Considering the abuse loaner cars go through, I would target something under 70k before I'm even willing to talk about it.

That is way too high for a loaner. As a reference point, my X7 was ordered to my spec, MSRP at $90k, I paid $81k and that's not even the best deal but I accepted it given we live in a small town.

You'll want to get that down closer to $75k or maybe even $70k.
