Not sure I follow. The GLS63 is a big engine in another wise fairly identical body with some minor suspension tweaks. Same concept here with the M50i and power output will be up there with then 5.0s. Likely will be nearly as quick and neither the GLS or X7 will handle like a sports cars anyway.

Really? Wow...I didn't know that...I live in Chicago, and our show is coming up in a few weeks - really hope BMW is there (they were last year).

Actually Porsche, Audi, BMW and Mercedes Benz all skipped this years show stating that that Detroit show no longer makes financial sense. Starting next year, Detroit Auto show moves to the summer. Hopefully they will come back. I was really looking forward to see the new G20 but I was disappointed.

Precisely.
X7 40i competes with GLS450
X7 50i competes with GLS550
X7M???? Would compete with GLS63 and that would be an even match.

Maybe I'm not quite sold on the massive grille at the front end. I just expected more. While the GLS has been around for 4-5 years now, it is a very handsome vehicle especially the AMG variants.

I'm a huge BMW fan, but a nuthugger I am not. Lots of this is subjective but I'm sure not everyone will agree when I say the front end of the new 7 is similarly flawed. The grilles are unnecessarily enormous. Is this BMW or Lexus/Audi??

BMW hasnt been to the Boston or Providence show in many years, but the Boston & Providence shows are not like LA/Detroit/etc. They need a local dealer to fill it and nobody wants to. Merc & Porsche have been absent past 2 years.

Looks like from the pic you could get up close to the X7?

Funny my buddy really wanted to see the Jeep Gladiator which goes into production next month. I bet him if in Boston it would be behind a "velvet rope", he said no way. Sure enough it was on a guarded platform and you couldnt get within 6 feet of it. I said since its a pre-prod model it would probably fall to pieces after the first person that touched it.

There is a huge difference. The paint quality and complexity of the azurite black are far superior. Carbon black is a poor mans azurite

Carbon black looks great until you wash it more than once.

This is a color that to look good requires some serious TLC. If you are ordering CB do yourself a favor and PPF the entire car.
