When this feature was announced, while others immediately asked technical questions about the quality of the service such as resolution, parking mode, backup to cloud services and such, while that is all important, but first thought was what happens when you get into an accident that is potentially your fault? Are you required to provide the video, and or any other legal implications. And if you deleted the video presumably that action would be saved in your car somewhere which potentially BMW could recover.

Lol, well obviously in a utopian world all people would always be honest and take responsibility for all their actions, but I believe the above is more about real world scenarios. Aside from the obvious use case where someone knows they are at fault, there is also the case where after the accident it's not immediately evident to either person who is at fault, and having a video might provide proof that you were at fault when otherwise it might have been unknown to you. So as a tool for people who always want to know who is to blame and take responsibility even if it's them, fir the rest of the world it's certainly important to know the legal implications having such a recording feature so people can make informed decisions. I'm not aware of the legal implications but hopefully someone who is can chime in. Then yes, with that information people can make their own choices on whether to use it or not.
