Thanks - I did the same with enet and was super fast and easy. Only confusing part was enabling video in motion and the last setting prompt didn't come up for me. I had to do this manually using controller up, media, home, media.

Quick question - for some reason I am unable to access Body Domain Controller section using my ENET. It says error reading. What am I doing wrong?

I wanted to set my driving mode to Sport Individual

I don't think that works with iOS 14. New Bimmercode update should fix that. Don't know when that will happen though.

If you email support, they will give you access to Beta version of Bimmercode that allows access to BDC. You will need to download and install TestFlight app on your iphone first.

If you use a direct connect ethernet to OBD interface cable, IOS 14 will work fine.

Will Video in Motion work with USB?
Video via USB*
Video in motion*

Has anyone set 1 & 2? What is your experience with these?

1. Time until automatic lock
The car is locked automatically again if it has been unlocked and no door has been opened within the set time.
Values:
10 seconds
30 seconds
1 minute
2 minutes
5 minutes
10 minutes

2. Automatic light control
The lighting switch position where the automatic light control is active. To prevent the low beam to come on when the switch is set to "0", use the option "Active in position A".
Values:
Active in position A
Active in position A and 0

I'm considering enabling these options;

Auto Start Stop function memory

Checkbox daytime running light

Daytime running light rear lights

Cover Artwork

Start animation

Tire pressure control

Display layout

One-touch turn signal 5 times

Initial seat belt reminder after start

Seat belt reminder driver seat

Seat belt reminder passenger seat

Close tailgate with button in the driver door without long press

Close tailgate with the remote control without long press

Tailgate function remote control

Tailgate function when pulling the button in the driver door

Tailgate function when pushing the button in the driver door

Camera warning

Warning at start-up

Welcome Light in darkness only

AFAIK you can't turn it off. Workaround is to have the vehicle always start in sport individual mode, and you can set all the parameters to whatever you want. The Auto start/stop is turned off in the sport and sport individual modes.

When setting up sport individual to match comfort, do you know if all settings need to be set as "comfort" ?

I've used the OBDLink MX+ Bluetooth adapter for a while. Some on this forum have mentioned using the ENET cable + Ethernet adapter and how much faster it is. Well, I tried this approach for the first time and wow, what the hell was I waiting for. I was done coding most of the above in less than 15 mins!

I highly recommend the ENET cable + Ethernet adapter with BimmerCode!

Can you code a lease? Will there be any problems when doing maintenance when the technician found out there are mod coding going on?
Thx!

There could be problems, but code it back to stock before taking it into the shop.

So I'm guessing if you code it back, there won't be any trace that you ever did something ?

I always:
1. revert FA to stock if needed
2. VO Code all ECU
3. Clear all error logs using ISTA - can also be done with esys transmitter (older versions)

One thing to note is that when the coding is done, it clears all fault codes (I don't know if it is only the codes associated with that ECU or all ECUs). If there's a fault code needed to troubleshoot an issue, reverting to stock would clear that code and the dealer won't be able to diagnose. Something to keep in mind.

If the fault code really represents a problem with a component, it will come back shortly after you clear it (if not instantaneously depending on the situation). So I would not use that as a reason not to code something....

That is just "coding speak" describing how to return your car back to stock coding configuration if you choose to use certain types of coding software - but not using BimmerCode . To return your coding back to stock configuration using BimmerCode, you will have to use a backup of the applicable ECU/module that BimmerCode creates. Search "BimmerCode" on the net and you will find information about how the app works in more detail, including some of the basics of coding BMWs in general.
