As far as I understand, Alpina branded wood has small Alpina emblem on it. You can see on the picture, it is above glove box, next to vents.

Wait, what? They just said Q4 2020 literally this week.
Yup, and Alpinas that we're slated for production got pushed out as well as can be seen from the other guys on this thread. I wouldn't hold my breath WildBlue you remember the 2019 model end of year delivery that ended up being like March or so.

I think they may have supply chain issues so they are delaying the builds to give time for the parts to come in...that's pure speculation not fact. What else would it be?

At least, if they really pushed Alpinas for next year, I will get mine in Alpina color as rumored. Blue or Green. I would take green!!

Just added the RSE and changed the wood trim to the "Alpina Walnut Nature Wood ".

Really? Yeah, I saw the emblem, but is that really the only difference that makes it the "Alpina Piano Black"? LOL. I could put a Chiquita sticker on it and call it the "Chiquita Banana Piano Black"

I mean... they JUST advertised the car as being Q4 2020 production. Just a few days ago. Surely they could see this delay coming, before they advertised Q4 2020 to prospective buyers.

Does this mean no production delay?

Mine is scheduled for January of next year, and any orders placed now, production is allocated for the end of February of 2021 and so on.

Wow that's a 7 month wait for new orders. That's a long time of dot watching... I wonder if other X7s will be affected as well or it's just the dark shadow and XB7 that are delayed.

The only plus in late production that some new option would come available, such as new Alpina wood trim, I changed mine build for it. Maybe Alpina Blue or Green will become available, I would take either one to have my SAV got noticeable difference from X7.

So far 62 Dark Shadow placed for build, and the earliest build was scheduled for week 43 this year.

BMW piano black is cheap plastic. Alpina piano black is actual wood with thick lacquered finish, like an expensive piano.

I am glad I made the switch to this trim.

Really? I'm guessing you have an inside scoop into production. I think Week 43 would be starting October 19th, which would put it in Q4 2020 just as BMW originally advertised

Are you able to keep the Phytonic or are they making you change your color?

As soon as they would make me go for different color, I would cancel.
Unless they will make Alpina Blue available.
