Ok, my vehicle is now with the dealer - I requested March 2020 upgrade. Not sure if this would somehow enable the Drive Recorder compatibility on the ConnectedDrive web page, but for those who just had their Recorders apps installed, did you also encounter the same issue on the BMW website when attempting to add it?

I am asking this because I believe the OTA software update is a n-1 current version of the software. I heard that many users have 03/2020.XX on their vehicles through the dealers (here in the US). If there were a couple of versions released after 11/2019.70, I think I should expect another upgrade notification soon?!
If the pattern remains the same expect the last release of 03/2020.(570?) to be delivered OTA sometime after 07/2020.x is released.

03/2020.558 is the latest G05/G07 version currently available

Thanks for the info.

Hmmm... it seems that they release the software updates in every March/July/November months or its like 03/xx.xx -> 07/xx.xx -> 11/xx.xx and if I got the Nov 2019 update in May 2020 then March 2020 OTA update (03/2020.xxx should be expected in the US in Nov 2020 (roughly a six month-cycle).

Or maybe they would start pushing them sooner.

That's a service shop (dealer) done update, right? Did you see anything changed in it? Well, my OTA update did list a summary of the updates it would do but I guess the guys at the dealer don't know much about the changes.

That's exactly it.

11/2020 has Traffic Light Assistant and Urban Cruise Control 'pencilled in' for cars with that I-step and build date. Whether it's backwards compatible with older model years with the newer I-step remains to be seen.

Same here, i have a 2020 with 07/2019 and it still says no update is available. I guess "patience" is the key word.

After doing the OTA update to 11/2019.70 my mute gesture (poke 2 fingers) is no longer working. It registers the gesture with a ding but doesn't mute the radio. Is anybody else having that issue?

I had to set it up again after I had my last update. Here's where you can configure those settings. "Car\Settings\General Settings\Gesture Control".

Can you elaborate on this? How do you know which cars will get those features?

Assuming US policy approves the use of this new semi-autonomous feature on US roads AND the current BMW hardware supports this new feature (and BMW has completed their own testing before public release), all BMW's with the installed hardware will get this upgrade. So if you have the Driving Assistance Professional Package (or equivalent package for those in other markets/countries) you should get it.

So I assume that will not be on an early 2019 X5 with:

Driving Assistance Plus
- Active Driving Assistant Pro

Update was conducted by my local dealer. Other than the Recorder app, I haven’t found any other improvements.

Mine is still showing no update available on 07/2019. I'll be making a long trip and would love to have Spotify and the latest updates. Should i continue to wait or ask the dealer? The dealer has been solid on saying they cannot upgrade anything.

Wouldn't hurt, and while you are at it, take a screen shot of the ConnectDrive web page where it states that the updates are supposed to be free AND can be conducted by the dealer. The level of knowledge of your average Service Advisor is very lacking when it comes to things like this. But then, some SA's know the right answer but choose to blow off customers, hoping the customer is not that informed (as many customers are not...).

No guarantees, but the screen shot would hopefully provide some leverage to get the update done (for free) as most BMW dealerships really covet their customer service ratings...

When my dealer refused to update my July version to a more recent one - since i wanted Spotify - I escalated to BMW Customer Service. Got resolved quickly. Sort of ridiculous to advertise a car will get the latest features and BMW hasn't enabled it.

When you escalated, did customer service just handle it with the dealer? I called the Genius department, and they were clueless about it.

They will call the dealer and approve the 30 min labor to update the idrive software. It is all about time / labor and reimbursement.
