I've just went to my local dealer after reading this thread and so far none of the removed options that were mentioned apply here (Australia), apart from the volume nob not being in crystal anymore.
They did mention that I can now have the remote engine start from keyfob and M seats at no cost, as I ordered the M50i. |

JayPichardo (the OP) is a BMW client advisor. I assume his source for the information is BMW North America. I can’t think of a reason to doubt this or any of the other great information he’s provided on this forum. |

I wonder if these items will come back as the 2021 model year goes by. Maybe it's just temporary at the start of the 2021 model year and they will add items back as they stock them better. I'm torn. Maybe I will just wait to see how 2021 unfolds and if all else fails I'll look towards the 2022 model... unless my dealer comes back with a great deal on a 2020 custom order. |

BMW has loads of market analysts that try to predict what cars and options people will buy in each market in order to maximize their profits. This is why different vehicles and different options are available in different countries/markets - and the X7 is no different. This is not the first time (or the last) that BMW's marketing decisions don't always make sense to your average online BMW enthusiast... The BMW online enthusiast community represents a small fraction of BMW buyers - the X7 online community is probably one of the smallest based on your typical X7 clientele profile. But the good news is that BMW seems to pay more attention to the enthusiast community based on some of the offerings in the past 5+ years or so. So all hope is not lost, but just don't hold your breath. I would hate to see so many people turn blue ......

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I just got off the phone with 2 of the CAs that I know, and they both confirmed that all of these option deletions are correct. One confirmed with the BMWNA Rep and the other confirmed it with the ordering guide.

If this is indeed happening why is it so difficult to get a copy of the ordering guide? Frankly, it's all hear say until we see the official ordering guide from BMW. |

kind of crazy they removed Full Leather, Off Road, Night Vision and Rear Seat Entertainment. This is supposed to be the 7 series of the X range. I guess they are probably anticipating the need the reduce the price of the SUV going forward to better to cut the option list and get more into standard options for now.

I guess I can call myself lucky. I assume there aren't too many vehicles out there with a similar configuration. Heck, you can't even get the white alcantara headliner anymore...

2020 Newbuilds
After my original order placed on May 8 was pulled, the dealership resubmitted on 6/1. I just received a production number this morning. Dealership also said plant will make customer orders first before replenishing dealer inventory/building dealership spec vehicles. I thought there was a chance my order may be delayed into August as a MY21 model but it sounds like it's increasingly likely I'll be getting a MY20 car.
So for anyone sitting on the fence between MY20 vs. MY21 (and fewer available options), sounds like there's still a reasonable chance to get MY20 vehicle with all the specs you want before orders are forced to MY21 builds. |

Yes, I just finalized a deal on a 2020 which will get me a 40i with everything except off-road. Full Merino Ivory, matching alcantara headliner, night vision, B&W...the works. Should be AWESOME!

Did they tell you how long the wait period would be? They told me doing merino leather would add on potentially 10+ weeks for the order given supply chain challenges? |

I live in a pretty rural area, about 45 miles outside of the Chicago Loop. Gotta be honest, the night vision has saved me quite a few times.
In one instance, the camera showed the glowing white outline of a deer up the road and I was trying to figure out what it was, and suddenly it lit up in Yellow on the screen the car threw up a red deer on the HUD and I immediately applied the brakes pretty harshly. The car in the left lane (4 lane road) kept trucking and hit the deer middle grill. I am sure that totaled his fairly new Lincoln. We saw the entire thing happen since we braked and he went past us. My wife said "man, ok, that camera was worth the cost". I am very surprised more people don't opt for the night vision. |

All good.
"SA322 - Comfort Access 2.0 has been enhanced to stop from unlocking and locking as the key holder walks around the rear of the vehicle." This one made me chuckle. A vehicle so immense, even when close comfort access thinks you've gone!
