So on Wednesday I was using apple car play just fine in my 2020 x7, and thursday I get in and it's just gone. So I uninstalled everything on my iphone and deleted phone from car and tried to reinstall. I can get the phone to pair via bluetooth, but not carplay. Any suggestions???

Follow those same steps and add the following:

Have you updated the iDrive from Apps? When in the apps screen, make sure you knock the iDrive controller to the left so that it shows 'installed apps' and something else (can't remember), hit option, then update. Reboot the iDrive by pressing the power on for the radio for about 20 seconds. Then press again to turn on.

Then reconnect.
