Spilled entire cup of coffee in cup holder!

I was driving and didn’t have a towel. By the the time I got to my office, it all leaked down in the console. I pulled the 2 side trim pieces and the trim around the holders and can’t find any wet areas. I tried pulling the cups themselves but to no avail. I have no idea where it went. I’m just hoping the cream I had in it doesn’t start to spoil and stink. Not sure what to do if anything I can do except wait.

Anyone have this happen?

How much coffee are we talking about in oz?? I personally would talk to your dealer ASAP and get some professional advise because maybe if they get right on it, it won’t create future issues. No way it’s not going create a smell which you don’t want to live with in such a expensive vehicle.

About 6 oz spilled. No smell and no issues so far.

Must be sitting there in the Base Plate of the car and would evaporate over time. I am assuming it could have passed over some electrical wiring bunch but not gone through any connectors.

Did you try to check at the very bottom of the car? Do you see anything there? I would worry if my coffee had sugar in it too which could cause insects like ants to get on it.

Not sure where it went but all seems OK. No smell and no issues. Maybe it’s designed to drain. I don’t know. This like the time about 15 years ago I picked up a big tin of Italian roast beef and spilled the juice on my carpet in my Hummer. After a couple of days, it smelled like a rotten animal. That was really hard to get out.

we actually see this a lot in service. Naturally you would assume with so many driving and drinking coffee these days its bound to happen. As long as you wiped as much as you could down you should be fine (prob will evaporate but leave some sort of sticky residue ). the equipment in that area is not as sensitive and should be fine. I would think designers planned for such things when they designed that area. However if you do start to see any sort of issues, take it into the dealer and they would be able to dial you in. They would most likely dissemble the area and address the situation then.

In my prior ML, it actually was designed to drain into chassis area under the vehicle. Pretty clever of them. Maybe this is as well.
