Lowering Springs//Track guys chime in
Since this car is begging for a slight drop I'm interested in doing something similar to the H&R super sports. I've always had full coilover setups.
For this car I think I'm going to try some lowering springs first. Bump up a spring rate and drop about 1" and 1.5". Adjustable end links as well. Maybe some swifts off the f80 m3/m4. What are your thoughts from people who have done both? The e92 m3 reacted well to just springs. Some cars don't. I understand both arguments, no need to explain. I just want some real world "feel" insights. |

I never just do springs. Ruins the balance that BMW has done and the shocks do not work as well. You need the proper shock travel.

You are right on as to the E9x chassis responded well to Swift Spec-R springs, but the F8x chassis didn't get the same results. May have a lot to do with how the struts and shocks are valved between the two chassis. |

Yes, better struts and shocks will improve the handling and ride quality. Stock valving are too high on the compression side and too little on the rebound side.
