It's so awesome to see some different configurations finally. Wish I could find some pictures of my interior trim, haven't seen anything yet with the ash grain black with bronze -matte.

Any of you guys comfirm that the captains arm rests can be removed?

I sat in one yesterday. Really looked awesome in the flesh with 22s and M Sport.

Standout feature for me was the third row. It's a shade smaller than GLS but call it pickem, more or less. But the materials back there and the climate control and the sunroof really elevate the experience. Plus, the space between the captain's seats give you some place to stretch out if you are in the third row.

Rows one and two require some moving around to optimize the legroom between all three rows. That's going to be annoying to me, I can tell already, but worth it. Oh, and mentioned it in another thread but for all you top tether car seat guys (if any) the tether latch for the captains is on the floor rail. So if connected, you can't move that seat at all

I'd like to see that trim too. I haven't seen it yet.

Personally, I'm not totally thrilled with any of the trim options so far, but that's the best I can see from the configurator. I'd like to see more options. I usually get aluminum trims with my Bimmers, but not sure how that would look on the X7 as a jumbo SUV.

Not really an appealing color, I think the X7 looks best in either Black Sapphire or Mineral White

So between 5:40 and 5:55 of this video you can see the captains slide and tilt forward pretty far for third row access, all without needing to fold the back rest forward. Anyone have any clue how they did that?

I think it may be the driver door located button that is able to do this in the absence of a button located on the second row seat (the bench has that button, the captains do not). Maybe the button figures out if a rear door is open and moves the captain associated with that door when you press this button. Just a guess.

Unless the rear buttons do this, but I think those are strictly for folding/unfolding the third row

I like the captain seats though i hate the plastic crap on the floor in the middle, kids will tread, scratch, kick, mark and damage it in no time. Only reason i would not get the captain seats

I get what you're saying, don, and have had similar thoughts, that the plastic floor console between the captain's chairs is going to get scuffed.

Perhaps that could be a better design, but for me, a small consequence of getting the captain's chairs, which I like so much more than the bench.

In that video, I'm guessing that's the anthracite brown poplar matte trim.
