Again, the ONLY reason I would want the Display Key is to remotely control the height leveling. Even better, BMW could just add it to the phone app.
yeah why would they not add that to the app?

To sell keys? Who knows. Perhaps it will be in the next update but that feature alone isn't worth it since you could just lower the vehicle before exiting. Why it is not programmed into the vehicle as an option like LR/RR boggles my mind. Easy access entry is such a convenience and a feature I would love to have on the X7.

As I said, it's not what some think. As iconoclast suggests, simply lower your X7 before you exit. Simple. And it is a head scratcher that BMW doesn't already include the option to lower the vehicle automatically when put into Park.

Display key for lowering is a nice feature. You can do it in vehicle before exiting but if you have passengers, you need to wait for all to exit and doors closed prior to dropping it.

Take it for what it is, I raised that question with BMW genius (the corporate guys, not the one at the dealer), and they said it's something being worked on for the IOS app. They have stopped all development for Android app and are focusing all their development efforts on IOS app.

So I guess I have to buy an iphone to use all the up coming features.

You can lower it with occupants; the doors just have to be closed.

Yes, agree - just that if they are trying to exit, you cannot lower. If you begin to lower and one opens the door, it stops.

Exciting! When did you hear that? If it was a year back, they were just bluffing. If I were the developer for the app, I could do it in a week max.

Every vehicle with factory suspension I have owned operated like this. Presumably for mitigating risk or liability.

The X7 lowers so slowly I don't see any risk in allowing it to continue lowering even if a door is opened. But avoiding liability will always take precedent. I read that the new GLS equipped with active body control automatically lowers as soon as it is put into Park. Their system raises and lowers the GLS very quickly so that may be the difference in why MB supports it and BMW doesn't.

I agree but in this litigious world they have to disable this feature for that one idiot who decides to use gorilla glue as hairspray.

But, seriously, you may want to pose this question in the G05 X5 coding section as there could be coding that de-couples the doors and air suspension. There is a similar "safety feature" that stops the window going up when the door is opened. I never understood that one (finger pinch concern I guess), but there is coding (using BimmerCode) that turns off that feature. So there might be some hope....

I think both the G05 and G07 coders have been digging into this suspension code and as of yet there isn't a feature to enable or disable. If there is I must've missed it.

Same thing for my 2017 750 lease. Did not use it once after showing it to friends and family. Sat in my drawer, ran out of battery and was returned with the car. Cool concept, but not worth it.

About 2 months ago, end of December when I was reaching out to them about why the digital key in the app still doesn't work on my android phone.

The rep I spoke with said they've stopped development on the android app so don't expect any phone newer than the Galaxy S8 series in USA to be supported. He said all development efforts are being put on iphones so he suggested I get an iphone to take advantage of new features coming out in the months ahead.
I asked what kind of features (my wife has an iphone and it already has a lot more information in the connected app then my android phone does), He listed off a bunch but the one that stood out to me the most was the ability to raise/lower the suspension.

He couldn't give me any firm timeline on when these features will be released, he just said in the upcoming months.

Hey there. I was browsing and looking for information on the display key. I own a M550 and a user in the G30 room talked about this but he has since not logged back on in a couple of years. If someone knows an overseas vendor, this would be helpful!
