Post Pick Up Checklist

Hi all, so I'm picking up my vehicle a couple states over unfortunately and it's got me thinking. Since I really won't be going back to that dealer post pickup for anything (I'll use my local dealer) what are the critical things I should be aware of. Looking for lessons learned from previous owners and basically in the following categories:

1. Things to do before going to the dealership for pickup
2. Things to do at the dealership
3. Things to do within a week of leaving the dealership

Examples: Parts dealerships forgot to give you, things they didn't activate, things I need to make sure are functional, stuff to subscribe to or activate once I have the VIN or before leaving the dealership or after leaving etc. Also, anything that was truly helpful to you or you wish you had done differently etc.

I recommend new and potential G07 owners spend time browsing the G05 main and subforms. There's a larger and active community with collected vehicle information and ownership experiences that are shared between the two vehicles.

10 a. Dealer to provide a note saying that issues identified and addressed in future releases will be done free of charge at any BMW Dealer at a reasonable frequency
11 Setup Apple CarPlay
a. Check Waze, Google Maps and Apple Maps work
b. Check playlists visible
12 Setup wi-fi hotspot and check working
a. find out IMEA number of the cellular chip in the car
13 Setup remote 3D camera viewing on iPhone
a. Make sure data privacy has 3d View enabled.
b. Make sure showing correct image
14 Setup mirrors to fold when vehicle locked
a. Does driver side mirror stay out further than the passenger side?
15 Check all exterior and interior lights,
16 Check comfort access
17 Check there is power from all cigarette adapters and USB ports (USB C cable needed)
18 Check all soft close doors work properly
19 Check that you can un-synchronise climate control for front seats
20 Check seat adjusters, heated seats, cooled seats and massaging function
21 Check cameras (front/back/sides)
22 Check electric steering wheel adjustment
a. Does it move back after comfort access entry?
23 Check remote start
24 Check all windows & sunroof operability incl safety stop
25 Check turn signals and emergency flashers
26 Check SOS call
27 Check first aid kit present
28 Check horn
29 Check heated seats front and back and side and center armrests heat and steering wheel
30 Check A/C front and back
31 Check rear hatch opening
a. Foot swipe
b. Key fob
c. Interior switch on drives door panel
d. Push buttons on upper and bottom hatch
32 Sun visor light and sliding feature
33 Check operation of gas door and cap
34 TPMS sensors are set and tire pressure ok
35 No service alerts active
36 Engine hood release works and relatches
37 Engine bay clean and without issue
38 Wheels clean, no rash, dings
39 Rear seat levers in the cargo area work
40 Han gestures work
41 Check electric seat functions
42 Location of the SIM card
43 3D view - parking lot parallel lines look parallel?
44 Driver & passenger seat thigh extension leather coming loose
45 Verify proper operation of the cargo pkg - flap door and cover work via buttons
46 Verify digital key works

Test Drive:
Check active kidney grill shutters work
Laser and cornering lights (only at night)
Auto start/stop works and can be turned off
All drive modes (ECO, Comfort, Sport, Sport +)
Active cruise control
Lane change assist (steering assist must be on)
Blinker lange change feature
Parking brake
Auto door lock at speed
Traffic jam assist
eStop feature
Cross traffic alert
Auto parallel parking
Rear cam during backup
Abnormal vibrations
Abnormal rattles/squeaks
Brakes
Throttle response/lag
Steptronic test
Blind spot indicator in mirrors
Heated/cooled cup heaters

The dealer will give you the winter floor liners for free if you ask them exactly like this:

“Every BMW I have ever purchased came with the winter floor liners in exchange for all 5’s when BMW surveys call and a 5-star review on Dealerrater. I assume the same situation applies here, correct?“

And just like that, the winter liners shall appear in your cargo bay.

I can confirm the floor mats, all 3 rows + cargo. I didn’t even have to ask and mine was CPO.
