X7 M50i early problems?
Hope everyone is doing well. I am currently shopping for an X7 either M50i or 50i. Preferably slightly used (under 25k miles). I'm coming from a Model X, and am looking forward to more comfort and luxury (albeit much slower).
As I search Autotrader, I've seen a surprising number of 2020 M50i's with less than 8k miles. Seems quick for this many 1 owner turn around (not dealer demos). Are the early M50i's problematic, enough to the point where many owners are selling, or forcing the dealership to buyback (before lemon law). Wanted to ask the forum base as a whole. I'd prefer to not buy new, but also don't want to have a problematic car. |

I may have my beautiful Tanzanite M50i for sale. Only reason I am selling is I have other cars I prefer to daily, and I'm awaiting an RS6. The M50i has been amazing for us so far. Taken it on roughly 4 7-800 miles road trips across my state. No issues, makes the perfect family car and looks so good. I have nothing but positive things to say. I am unsure why so many, maybe others doing same as me, always on the lookout for the next rig.

I've had a fantastic experience with mine so far (4K+ miles). Hard to say why you see so many for sale. This segment of car can attract all kinds of different buyers who end up selling for various reasons; those always in the quest for the next great car, the financially irresponsible, etc. Either way, your gain! It's a fantastic car with only minor things that I would change.

I have seen quite a few around Chicago with under 5K miles. Many of them were dealer / executive cars but wasn't advertised that way. May be they had a fleet that was released for sale?

I am actually surprised you are finding used ones for sale. Where I am in the Baltimore/Washington area, It's so hard to find new ones yet alone a used one. I have not seen a single used X7 anywhere in my market, other than demos or loaners.

I'm not too sure why I've seen so many lightly used M50's. Most are in the south, many in Texas. One dealer I spoke to said 'oh we never get these in', and I've since then seen 3 used pop up on their website in the past 30 days.
I suppose if it isn't a lemon, maybe it has the kinks worked out. Appreciate all of the feedback. I was worried it was going to be a never ending list of issues people had dealt with. |

Definitely check the carfax on them, I know all my service visits show up on mine. You'll see a lot of visits on ones that may have been problems.
I have a 2019 50 with no issues, great car |
