My MY2019 July built came with the space saver tire even though I didn't order it. I was looking for the under floor storage but found a tire instead.

Thanks, that helps a lot. Do you have idea if the M50 could have the same spare? Just curious if that can replace the 22 wheel and fit the brake in.

I have 22 inch wheels with M Sport brakes. I assume BMW would only provide spare tires that fit around the M Sport brakes.

Did you pick dealer inventory? From the online build system, spare as an available option for M50 so assume they are compatible.

There is no spare in M50i, just additional space, or I have to say there is strange cover which I have no idea where it should be mounted

What I was surprised about there is second trunk roulette, if you fold third row you can exchange the roulette and put one that has range to cover all, nicely done BMW

Now here is another question I also found special net tat you hang in the trunk the problem is there is nothing to hang this bet to? It feels like this should be in Sedan?

Question,
Do you also have the rolling cover for the trunk? Or once you have spare then the rolling cover is gone?

The spare does not (or at least should not) delete either of the cargo covers.

The image that is shown in this tread is missing the cover I think and also looks like spare had extra cover for the wheel space?

Yeah, the picture shown above does show what the spare tire looks like, when installed underfloor. However, whether you order the spare tire option for your X7 or not, both of the actual CARGO covers should still be included. We're talking the retractable cargo cover for one, that is used behind the 2nd row with the 3rd row down, and the hard folding cover that is used in the very small space behind the 3rd row when it is up. When you have those, it's up to you if you want to keep them in the car or not, and I don't recall if and how they fit underfloor, if the spare tire is installed.

All, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Both types of covers are included with the space saver tire. I have both.

So you give up storage space by having a spare tire or that space wouldn't be available for storage anyway without a spare tire?

600 bucks roughly for tire mounted on wheel, no foam insert/jack etc.

You'd get storage space if you didn't order emergency spare. The demo I drove had the under floor storage. They probably changed all Australian spec X7 to include the spare and that's the reason I got one.

I can not for the life of me get both to stay stowed at same time. Not a problem for me, though, as I keep both out to ease access to tire and the little cargo area left over that I use for misc stuff.

I'm going to be driving with 3rd row down most of the time, so I think I'll keep the roller cover installed behind the 2nd row, and just stow the small cover underfloor. (assuming it can be stowed there with the spare tire)

side note: I've found that small cover to be made from different materials, in different X7's. I think if you have one of the higher quality interiors, (full Merino?) you get the nice soft velour material for this cover. Otherwise you get a simple canvas-like material.

yeah the smaller one fits in there fine with spare tire. I find it a bit tricky to remove but it does fit.

Nails don't know the wheel size when piercing into the tire
Though the tires are run flats, I would always prefer having a spare in emergency and $150 is a very good price from factory.
