As expected, yet disappointedly, the new X7 LCI did not introduce a PHEV option. Even worse, there was no meaningful reduction in emissions, which one would assume to be given in 2022.

Luckily other brands continue to push the envelope, with Mercedes introducing a fully electric 7-seater SUV based on EQS:

I mean, if your criteria is a fully electric 7 seater, BMW does have the iX.

You're right, my mistake. For some reason I thought it was X7 sized, not X5 sized.

The X7 PHEV could still be announced, don't they usually do PHEV announcements separate from LCI, for some reason my mind says the X5 PHEV was 6 months after LCI. But when they do it may be Europe first then US 6-12 months later like other things.
