Age has nothing to do with it i know a lot of older people ie my moms friends that are a lot more immature than I am and it's kinda smarter to wait a year or two then get the car you want even if you have the money why take that depreciation right as you roll off the lot you can still find like new cars with 5-15k miles for 10-20grand less just my $.02
