Engine and/or transmission cooler

Do E90s come with an engine and/or transmission oil cooler? I was checking out a couple of E90s yesterday at my local dealer and noticed that one with an automatic transmission had what looked like an engine or transmission oiler cooler mounted below the radiator, whereas the one with an manual transmission did not.

Thanks

Automatics have a different radiator and the transmission has oil lines that hook up to a oil cooler that hooks up to the radiator

Thanks E90Fleet.

Do either automatic- or manual-transmissioned cars have engine (versus transmission) oil coolers?

The euro versions have a oil/water heat exchanger located on the oil filter unit.

Dont know why the USA didnt get it.

Its main advantage is supppsed to be faster oil temp increase after startup

Could this and other differences be a contributing reason why the US cars are so much cheaper than the rest of the world?

No, the parts cost just over 100 euros

Big thing with USA is they order so many cars and they dont have massive car taxes like many other countries

Yeah, tell me about the taxes!!! Both our wonderful countries charge super heavy taxes on such imports.

Perhaps if the US did charge extra for luxury imports etc, it may, just may help their ailing local car manufacturing companies like Ford and GM that seem to be bleeding to death.

We have local car manufacturing protection import duty. The duty cost comes down every year but the cars seem to cost more every year. Go figure!!
