Yeah, this changed when switching from the old to the new app. Not having to do with the OTA update. Instead of the app button starting the car, the app starts climate, and the car only starts if needed to run the climate. (which it often does)

Make sure you have the "starting engine for clim. Control" checked in pre-condition and ventilation settings.

Where is this setting? Is under climate settings? I cannot get the new mybmw app to ventilate my car anymore and maybe it's bc I don't have this setting checked after the update was done.

BMW does appear to have changed the OTA update process. I don't know if this was mentioned but, I received an email about the update. I don't recall this process in the past.

I also got that email (yesterday actually). The title was “ Upgrade to BMW Remote Software Upgrade 21-03 now”. Not sure what this Software Upgrade 21-03 is as I have never seen that number terminology used for anything involving a software update, OTA or otherwise. I then went to both the app and my car after getting this email to see if an update was available for me yet - but no dice and I could not find any “21-3” software designation anywhere in the app or my X7..

Yeah 21-03 is confusing at best. I did try checking the app just now and nothing. I guess I'll try my x7 later.

Checked for updates from iDrive and same here, nothing pending.

Just picked up my vehicle yesterday, came with 03/2021.63 - seems smooth, alexa working nicely - anyone else running .63?

Interesting. I wonder why the multiple different numbers out there. I think we've seen .50, .57, and .63 all for 03/2021, all of which is being pushed out at the same time

The old and new app are working for me today. I just checked before I posted this. As a matter of fact, the day before yesterday the old app got an update. I'm not sure whats up with the old app not working for some but does for others.

The old app still works for me on android (with some functionality removed) but on IOS it won't even start the app.

Same for me, it wouldn't even launch on my iPhone. I deleted it since I never use it anymore.

Ive seen exhaust note issues with .50/.57 - I’ve set up my wife’s key/driver profile to be the quietest exhaust note and mine to be the loudest - I can confidently say that software revision .63 is very loud upon warm up (at least commensurate with previous software if not louder) and hers is about 1/4th the volume of what the normal note sounds like.

Where do you setup exhaust note?

Latest thing I discovered, I asked the voice command to play a particular song from my music library. It responded, "setting up voice control for media".

Looks like this update reset that voice control. Pisser.

Is anyone else having issues running Alexa after the update? I’d post a picture of the (not supported) error message but haven’t figured out how to on iOS.

It’s not exactly a straightforward process but once set up it’s been running fine on version .63 on my end (across 2 driver profiles)
