19" All Season Ride Comfort
Hi All,
I have 19" Wheels with 225/45 R19 Runflats and am finding the ride comfort a bit harsh. I am due to replace tyres soon, has anyone fitted All Season tyres, in this size and did you see any significant increase in ride comfort? I realise they're not run flats Many TIA Dave |

i'm currently running go flat Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires in that same size. Ride quality has improved drastically. I made a compact spare to keep. Haven't used it at all. I know it won't fit over my front M brakes so if I get a front flat, I need to put the spare on the rear and then move that to the front. lol
I am not happy with the mileage I'm getting on the Michelins. I'm at 27k and they're already down to 4/32nds. So I know they won't make it to winter. I run a dedicated 18" winter setup. I'm looking into goflat Pirellis next or will cheap out and get Westlake tires at over half the cost of the Michelins or Pirellis. If they last 30k, I'm still ahead of the game. The X2 has become the grandkid or dog car so I really don't need high performance tires on it. As with every BMW I have owned, as soon as the runflats wear (usually less than 25k miles) I replace them with goflats. |

I'm like chowser in that I ditch the horrible run-flats as soon as possible. On my X2 that was WAY before they were worn out. I just couldn't stand them & the narrow 225s these cars are spec'd with.
Although I'm not running 19" wheels on the X2, go-flats on it (& everything else I've put them on) resulted in a DRASTIC improvement in ride, handling, & road noise level. I don't mind only getting 20k-30k miles on tires.... so long as they remain sticky/compliant. I've had to throw away probably $15k worth of tires in my life due to hardness/dry-rot vs running out of tread. The bad part of living in a desert climate.
