Settlement Email for the Cupholder
Received this email couple days ago regarding a class action lawsuit with BMW. Looks like this circle back to an old thread that someone spilled liquid in the heated/cool cup holder and then somehow it short circled part of the chip board so in the middle of the road the car won't be drivable. Link below has all the information.
https://www.warninglightspillsettlement.com/ Any other received this here as well? What should I do? |

Depends on your situation. If you have actually had this issue happen and paid for repair, you need to submit a claim for reimbursement. Otherwise, you don't need to do anything now.
Whats not exactly clear here is if under the extended warranty period, they are only agreeing to cover the repair if you have an issue or if you can proactively go in for a fix before there is an issue. I'm assuming it's the former. The extended warranty period is defined as 7 years so every x7 is still covered for at least a few more years. |

Does anyone know if they addressed the issue in the 2023 model? Given how long these suits take, wasn’t sure if ‘23 wasn’t included because they moved the electronics/addressed the issue another way or because ‘23 wasn’t out when the lawsuit was started.

I wonder if there are any changes to address this issue on the LCI models. |
