My app no longer works after the last BMW update, anyway to get it to work again?
Thanks

Other threads have discussed update 03/2023 locks out Bimmercode, and no one (not even the Bimmercode folks) have a work-around. Update 11/2022 messed up my settings, and some remain so. Because of 11/2022's behavior and 03/2023's Bimmercode nullification, I'm done with updates. My car drives just fine as is, and I don't need any new nav screen razzle-dazzle improvements to entertain me.

This is not accurate. 03/2023 does not lock out Bimmercode and it will function as normal. What has changed with 03/2023 is the ability to code off ASS, that is for all coding tools. I'm referring to iD7.

OP - Welcome to the forum. Make sure you are running the latest version.

This is generally speaking terrible advice. At the very least, go to BMW's website at https://www.bmwusa.com/explore/conne...e-upgrade.html and review the vague information that is published in the software upgrade release notes. Unless you think you have a specific and desperate need for one of the new functions, allowing an upgrade that promises "new features, function updates and quality improvements" might well leave you unpleasantly surprised, as it has several owners who can no longer disable ASS via Bimmercode with update 03/2023 (which I guess must be one of the upgrade's new features). Nothing in release 11/2022 delivered improvements for me -- it left me to do several hours of reconfiguration (it wiped out all my radio presets and enabled the speed limit warning setting it to 4 mph, in addition to several other annoyances), and a non-functional tailgate kick-opener and loss of the instrument panel navigation screen. And I'm supposed to believe that 03/2023 might restore these? I'm not interested.

Actually it is very good advice and something that anyone who understands Bimmercode, including Stefan who developed it, will tell you. Anytime you update the major version of iDrive you want to make sure you are running the latest version of Bimmercode to make sure you have the updated mapping.

Not sure what your diatribe has to do with that, perhaps you misread something.

Do you think 03/2023 update would wipe out the ASS being able to be coded off on my 2021 X5M with ID7?

It most likely will. Once my 2020 X7 got updated to 03/2023, Bimmercode stopped working for ASS memory. I reached out to the developers yesterday about the status, their reply is

"Dear Customer,

There is no way to make this coding work again for us unfortunately, but you could still use the workaround to make the car start with a different driving mode that disables the ASS."

Why do you have it coded out? You should still have the ASS button so that can be used to turn it off. To answer your question though, starting with 03/2023 it is not possible to code off ASS using any coding method.

I meant to say I have the ASS button in car set to off and it does stay off. I just thought if an OTA update somehow got installed or if the dealer performs some kind of S/W update next week (for whatever reason) at the 36 month service, I would lose the option of keeping the ASS off.

No, the button is not affected. We are only talking about coding.

For anyone curious, ASS default off is now possible with Protool apparently.

Do you have some concrete evidence to back this up or is it just hearsay?

I posted it here. That's the answer the company gave me. Picking up my first BMW next week. Already got my Enet cable and USB C adapter. Can't wait to give it a try on my new to me X7 2022.
