BMW XM sells like hotcakes

BMW sold more BMW XMs in the first year of production than Lamborghini sold the Urus since 2018.

In Romania, where I live, the BMW XM is the most purchased M car. There were over 60 orderes in july 2023 alone (This was confirmed to me). When my dad went to leave his 530e for brake pad and fluid service, the dealer was in the process of showing 2 BMW XMs to their owners, with one stating he wanted to buy a white one that was on display for his wife. When my dad went to pick up his 530e the white XM on display was bought. The dealer manager told my dad they sell very very well and have a lot of customers from brands like porsche, ferrari etc.

I think this is regional as well. I see some dealerships who are able to sell as many as they can get their hands on. They don’t last more 2-3 weeks on the lots.

That’s wild, I’ve seen the same ones sitting ( tons of 23s ) and a bunch of 24s but I always always forget this is a brand new model. I say “ 24s are sitting “ but the reality is we are only 4 months into 2024 lol

I drive by the bmw south dealership in miami weekly and have seen XMs sell like hot cakes as well… they don’t sit long and most are custom orders.

Owners are giving honest reviews and feedback and word is these SUV’s are better then one would have guessed and although expensive they compete with the likes of Range Rover and anything in the price range while outperforming all of them with Rolls Royce level interior.

I’m considering selling my base model to move up to a label.

Is this bimmerlink or BimmerCode accessible? Would like to learn more if this is an easy process to enable.

You can get a tune from Race Chip, RG Sport is active daily and is where I purchased mine from. You can also get a tune from
BMS for it but it’s a little more involved to install and use.

Bimmerlink is for service needs.
BimmerCode is for coding needs.
RaceChip is the easiest, install and forget, piggyback tune to up your horsepower.

There have been a total of 1000 XMs sold from what I can tell and over 6K Urus since 2018. Also, the Urus is more expensive and there are far fewer Lamborghini dealers…the XM costs less than a fully loaded Cayenne.

XM s aren’t really selling here in NorCal either. My x6m cost more out the door vs the discounted XMs sitting on the lots here at the time of my purchase a few months ago. Regrets since the XM has really grown on me.

If americans valued fuel economy and taxes like europeans do(much greater taxes and fuel prices in eu), the XM would sell over X5M and X6M.

My gas mileage is much improved in my XM and XB7. It’s all relative. I was getting 8mpg in one of my previous vehicles!
